It was a personal trip. The experience at this hotel was good. The best thing about the hotel was its environment, room and service. They provide cab facility to reach the hotel. The hotel was 4 hours far from the airport. The surrounding area was good and quite calm. The staff behaviour was very friendly and helpful. The hotel had a heritage look. The check-in and check-out process was not delayed. The games were provided by the hotel. They organize sightseeing trips. The swimming pool and spa was there. The food was good and the cost was quite reasonable. The room was spacious and nice. The washroom was hygienic. TV was there in the room.
Leading a hectic life in Bangalore warrants a break from monotony and the long weekend in the first of October seemed like the perfect time to visit Kerala. Having visited the Central and Southern parts of Kerala previously, Wayanad seemed close enough distance wise to visit god's own country Being 9 of us, we rented a tempo traveller for the journey and after numerous stops for breakfast, lunch, snacks etc. We reached Wayanad in approximately 10 hours. Getting to the resort is fairly straightforward as long as one has been there before or have a GPS. Otherwise too, the resort folks are extremely helpful and guided us in getting there. Many a sightseeing spot happen to be along the way to the resort so one can get a good feel of distances and commute required for sightseeing The resort is quite picturesque and interesting, what with the Banasur dam and lake present behind the resort. The rooms are clean and spacious and the bathrooms are very hygienic too (I'm very particular about bathrooms being clean) so the stay felt comfortable. There is loads of space to walk/trek including an entrance to get by the lake and chill out. Some downsides to the resort is the lack of a restaurant thereby limiting food availability to certain hours only. E. G. Breakfast is complimentary but finished by 10 am. Lunch and dinner are best obtained when ordered well in advance, because it takes time to prepare and serve to the room. The resort lacks a swimming pool though if travellers are very picky about having one compulsorily for a vacation My advice to fellow travellers would Be. 1) Please book your rooms well in advance and search for the best deals in the process. Dealing directly with the resort folks means you could be shelling out more cash than the place deserves 2) If travelling by road, please be prepared to waste time at the Kerala border. Kerala is a fantastic state but has pathetic roads and as is the case with any government check post, service is slow 3) Liquor is close to becoming unavailable in Kerala and the nearest source from the resort is 40 at a state owned liquor store! If alcohol is important for your vacation, please buy some liquor once you cross into Kerala at first sight and take it along else it's just not worth the effort and time to source it later. Do not carry liquor with you because there is a high possibility of it getting seized at the border and the risk is not worth it 4) Please carry some medicine along to deal with leeches and insects that nature has aplenty 5) If you intend to have a busy vacation (which most Indians do) where sightseeing is the number one priority and rest is the last, then please make sure you've made travel arrangements courtesy a taxi service or private vehicle If I were to go back to visiting this resort once again, I'd make sure I don't carry my laptop, tablet or any bloody device that is a part and parcel of the pathetic life that I lead in the city. Additionally, I'd just go on a vacation to unwind rather than run around sightseeing and not getting any rest at all in the process. People should return rejuvenated from vacations and not tired so here's wishing folks visiting Silver Green Resort at Wayanad a great holiday Cheers!
We wanted to get away from the city for a day or two and just watch the rains in Wayanad during the onset of the monsoons. As expected, the place was quite deserted as it was off-season time Silver green resorts was just the right place we were looking for. Also, since the resort is on the catchment are of the Banasurasagar dam you get an absolutely wonderful view of the mountains. It's a quiet place, next to zero vehicles, gives you a feeling of being in the middle of a jungle. Do not expect a pool or even a badminton court. It's just the kind of place where you just want to go sit in the balcony of your room and just do nothing but enjoy the rains, watch the mist rolling by and covering the mountains You can take a stroll into the forest which is like 1. 5 km from the resort and as you would expect early mornings are just spectacular as you have all these birds chirping around the rooms and the hotel, it just feels so great. The hotel also offers some kind of semi offloading experience in their jeep, but I can't comment on that as we did try that out nor enquire about it As said above we wanted to just curl up in bed, watch the rains and relax. But the problem is the rooms are not super clean. There was dust on the floor and bed. The cable used to go off most of the time. There are a lot of rough edges, but if you intend to just spend a night there then its absolutely fine. The food is average and a bit pricey. We ordered chicken soup but instead were given cream of vegetable soup. The food served in the morning was kind of cold. So don't have high expectations in the food and room departments But the staff there they are real eager to help you and the service was superb. There is some kind of amateurish confusion when it comes to receiving and seeing off guests, but I think it was due to some of the staff being new and add to that the off-season time Overall I would say that its a good for a quick stay, but don't go with very high expectations.
Had been to this place during December last week with family Booked the place based on reviews on net which I felt was bit promising My experience was average overall. Here are details for your perusal :. 1) I had booked 3 rooms in resort through Goibibo. But on reaching the place was surprised to hear from (Operations Manager) that we have only two rooms booking. He kept on insisting that he has not received money for third room from Goibibo and he cannot provide room 2) Just imagine the situation, you travel for 8 long hours to reach the venue and you have your family members waiting and we are debating, it took more than 1 hour of debate (even with confirmation booking receipt from Goibibo) 3) Most of them in resort lack communication skills. Very few speak good English. If you know Malayalam I guess this would help you :-) 4) Here I go for specific feedback. - Kumar (60+ year old) : Service Person, I would rate him 5/5. I guess he deserves this for the kind of service what he offer in the resort. Very polite, very ardent always available at our service. - View from Resort is 4/5, I would rate the location as very good because of scenic view what it has to offer. - Food 3. 5/5, food served was delicious but appreciate if you could be bit faster with service. Next time when someone asks for Tea please suggest not to say that have no milk :-). They are in this business and I guess Milk is basic prerequisite. - Operations Manager. 1/5:. A) Go for basic communication skills training and customer handling skills. Be) Your English needs improvement. C) If you have guests coming have all communication with them prior they come for check-in. The) If somebody has confirmation receipt give benefit of doubt that customer is right. E) You make money in long run from service and word of mouth about the service 5) General Manager : Apart from wearing a coat and roaming around in resort please better be aware of some crisis management, never try to lock horns with customer in debate. You will have repercussions. In Hospitality Industry even if customer loses his temperament, you in your position have to arbiter the situation rather than taking sides and pretending ignorant Overall I would rate this place average, avoid if possible. If booking, take care you do not end up in my situation again PS : Next time when someone has booked the resort please call them previous day and keep them posted about the booking status. If any confusion this could be avoided.
Basically the location of hotel is good and the overall look on back water of lake is excellent. The service is average as it requires more planned staff. The room is good with all basic facilities especially water heater was good. It is fibrillated with true seasons which are very good to access. The food is average as required menu is not available at that time. Overall experience with hotel is good only. My children rather enjoyed trip to full extent.
