Silver Oak Stay Homes Reviews
Hotel was good but it was located far away from city and main road. I had visited the hotel along with my family for relaxation. There was no delay in check in and checkout procedure. The pickup and drop facility provided by the hotel. The room was spacious clean and well maintained. TV, AC and geyser provided in the room were working fine. There w....Read More
The hotel had all the necessary facilities ranging from cycling to a pool. The food was delightful. Service was good and one good feature about this hotel was that it had Wi-Fi. Book the hotels before hand. Go through reviews of different hotels online for a comfortable and peaceful stay. The quality of the mattress was also good.
The overall experience at this hotel was nice and the location of this hotel is very convenient but pretty far. The appearance of the hotel is very much attractive and staff members were polite and well-mannered. The room allotted to me was very spacious and maintained hygiene with all the essential facilities in proper working condition. There was....Read More

Being somewhere away in pleasant atmosphere, its an awesome experience. Its so cool over here. Sudesh and Rathan are having more hospitality mind. Service is also good. The cottage is having the wood work on the door. Its fantastic, like antique piece. A complimentary gift by Silver Oak is pretty good.
Good for weekend getaways at a secluded place. Home cooked food and well-maintained place. Rooms are slightly damp. Staff and management took great care of us and attended to all our needs in a timely and efficient manner. Ambiance is decent and is away from the town by a considerable distance.
I visited this place with my family! The hotel was located most convenient and near to bus stop. There is a mountain view from the room and the internal and external appearance of the hotel was good. Even the staff are helpful in nature. There was AC, TV and other amenities in working condition. The qualities and taste of the food was very nice. It....Read More

My wife, both my boys (aged 8 and 3) and myself drove from Bangalore to Coorg. Strangely, it wasn't cold - so the extra bag of woolens we packed wasn't really needed. The road into Coorg is crazy - like a dirt-bike racing track. But that was all forgotten once we drove into Silver Oaks. It was exactly what Bob, the owner, promised! Simple, natural...and very, very lightly priced. If you really want a vacation to get away from it all, then go there...but if you're sticky about your 5-star comforts and are stiff about service, then stay in Bangalore...Coorg isn't the place for you! Again, don’t get fooled by the big banner and branded resorts (whose websites make them look like they are based in Vienna) - Silver Oaks has simple rooms (with TV connections and a million channels, for those of you that actually want to waste time watching TV in Coorg!), hand-made maps to help you get around to all the famous sight-seeing spots, a little lake in the backyard where you can watch the ducks, go paddle-boating or just soak in the rural peace and scenery, clean bathrooms with 24/7 hot water, a helpful chief attendant (Anandan) who is able to source just about anything you might need (i mean, anything!), plenty of options for indoor games (billiards, carroms, table tennis, a small library)...and Bob, the owner, who exemplifies the traditional Coorgi hospitality. He's very responsive, knows more about Coorg and its culture than any book will ever tell you...and he's a super-bike freak too! Bob's intent is to keep the place simple, closer to nature, and keep it well-priced...and for someone who's stayed with all the BIG names in Coorg, Silver Oaks takes the cake! Don’t miss it for anything...and we're already planning our next trip there! Bob (and Anandan and Latham and team)...very special vacation and a couldn’t have wanted it any differently!
The one word that comes to mind when I think of Coorg and its Divine! Its a not to be missed destination if you enjoy nature, outdoors and a simple lifestyle. More about Silver oaks, I did a fair amount to research to find a place as we were a group of 4, including a senior citizen and a child so all of us different expectations from the holiday. Bob, the owner of the homestay was probably the only one of the many people I contacted who replied to my several questions which was a big help and the main reason I chose the homestay. He made all the arrangements quite easily for us.
Stayed at Silver Oaks between feb 16 to 20 2012.The overall experience with Silver Oaks was brilliant. A very peaceful and calm place to relax with an excellent service provided by Bob and his staff.Bob and his family are wonderful set of people and they make all efforts to give you a complete home experience away from home. you can even witness Bob and his wife working with the staff people in kitchen at dinner time on the weekends to give that personal touch to the guests. There is a lot of flexibility in meal timings and you can even order meals as per your taste and choice. The rooms are big and con temporarily designed. Would suggest to stay at this place
My wife from the bginning wasn\'t too comfortable about the idea of staying in a homestay as we had never that done before. Still persuaded her to try this place out and the experience was a very pleasant one. This place run by Bob is more like a resort (rather than a real homestay) with a nice swimming pool and other facilities like baddy, TT etc. We were given individual cottages which were nicely done and well maintained. While the place was amidst plantations and gave a feel of natural habitat, amenities were all modern and very good. Within the resport there was a coffee plantation also where you could roam around. The food there was very good most of the times especially the coffee there was very good. We overall had a good time there and my wife was infact happy to have chosen this place in the end.
This was our first trip to Coorg district. When i was browsing across the web i came across so many resorts & homestays and that actually confused me a lot. i had sent mails to many resorts and a few replied but then a common friend mentioned about Silveroaks and then i shot a mail to them citing my requirement. I immediately got back a detailed reply which completely mentioned about the resort, best sight seeing areas & the distances from the resort, bus timings from Bangalore to Coorg or rather the ones that pass thru the town where this resort is located. Charges for hiring cars etc etc. The first impression was good and i wrote back to Bob (owner of the property) with some clarifications about the bus and he replied saying that his office can help us in booking the right tickets in KSRTC and according to our convenience. We had planned to take an overnight bus and reach Coorg early in the morning but most of the resorts have their check in only at 11 or 12 in the morning and were hesitant in committing for an early check in that too without the charges but then Bob was very supportive and he said we can come in anytime. We had some last minute changes and ended up driving down from Bangalore. As we were nearing Gonnikoppal (the town where the resort is located) we realised that it is best to come here by our own transport rather than a bus because the resort is quite far off from the main location and having arrived early in the morning (around 4 am or so) and with my wife around me it would have been a bit inconvenient. The sight seeing places are all around 50 - 60 km distance and Bob gave us a route map which was very handy to us. At the resort the swimming pool i felt is not very user friendly for non swimmers as there are no railings on the walls where a person can hold for support and the pool has a minimum height of 5.5 or 6 feet this was a bit inconvenient for short people like me. The cottages / rooms were very comfortable the pillows were bit thin but manageable. The private sit out offers very good scenery of the agricultural fields but was a bit scary in the nights. The food was great and the charges for the buffet was very minimal. The spread of the buffet could have been bit more elaborate may be another one or two dishes could have been added. A special Barbecue was made for us and that was again superb. We were two couples and we truly enjoyed this trip. Given a chance to visit Coorg again we would surely opt for Silveroaks as our preferred place to stay....
