"Great place to stay"

6.0/7
Posted 1 Aug

I had visited this hotel with my family. We took 2 rooms and thus got a cottage home in all. The hotel is very scenic and beautiful with a private beach. The bad part about the beach was that it was located on the other side of the road. The food here is great as well. The service was excellent.

I visited this place in the month of February and it was a honeymoon trip. The destination was the excellent, especially beach. The hotel location was excellent as the best way to reach this hotel was a car. The appearance was excellent and nice looking. The hotel reception was very good and staff was good. I had booked the hotel through online. Rooms were clean and spacious. Service was very good and staff was quick in service. The food was good and tasty. We didn't use any other activities. The overall experience was very good.

The food was average in taste and breakfast was given to us as complimentary. The overall experience staying in that hotel was good.

"Well-furnished rooms but away from the city"

4.8/7
Posted 9 Mar, 2015

I landed up in this this resort in mid Jan, 2015, thorough a travel portal that I booked online and stayed at the sister hotels, as well as part of the holiday package. It's difficult to review a resort which is geographically so isolated considering all the logistical and other challenges that go into running a place like this. So one needs to keep an open mind and this review maybe read with a disclosure subject to terms and conditions¬Ě. Any holiday is an experiential matter, and needless to say, the place of stay is a huge determining factor for this experience. The location is undoubtedly the crowning glory of this resort. It has a sliver of the famed sandy beaches of Havelock and unspoilt views of the gorgeous Andaman Sea. This is as close as one can get to enjoy the commune with nature. Coming to the more practical and functional aspects- the resort is away from the main town so access to the commercial hub is difficult as there are no transport facilities. If you are lucky you may find an auto, else you have to hire a scooty. The rooms are well-furnished and comfortable with a log cabin kinda feel, but on the downside they seriously need sound proofing. Also a stocked up minibar wouldn’t be a kill considering it is dreadfully hot and humid when it's bright and sunny. The place is cut off cell phone network connectivity wise. Be prepared as even the landlines can be down in case there's heavy downpour. So depending on your temperament you could actually get a panic attack or enjoy your new found freedom from digital and the urbane chaos. The dinner options (though a little on the spicier side) were fairly good but breakfast could have been definitely better. A few pointers though- It's important to keep some cash handy for emergencies. The place doesn't accept cards and of the two ATMs in the islands, the AXIS bank remains non-functional and the SBI has perennially serpentine queues. Also for non-honey mooning couples it's advisable to carry your non digital entertainment options like a book or a game of scrabble/ chess; cause if the weather Gods play truant and you are holed up inside the resort instead of going scuba diving; then you are gonna be bored to death! And trust me when it pours its absolutely torrential rain! I realized during the stay that the tariff is pretty steep for the budget traveller. If you are booking a package through a travel portal it works out more reasonable. The friendly staff, right from the resort manager -Mr. Pawan, guest relations Ms. Faizleen, down to the night guard, were all very courteous and helpful. So that earns them brownie points. The breathtaking view of the Andaman seascape, shades of turquoise and teal. sandy beaches, tiny white crabs crawling over the feet, little fisherman's boats bobbing up and down and the distant lighthouse at night more than make up for the shortcomings of the resort.

"Overall, experience was excellent in this hotel"

7.0/7
Posted 6 Nov, 2014

The experience was excellent in this hotel. Staff behaviour was also excellent and they were quick to attend all requests on time. This hotel was conveniently located. The appearance of the hotel was very nice from inside and outside. Room was spacious, neat, clean and well maintained. Daily housekeeping staff were cleaning the bed sheet, washroom and pillows. Complimentary toiletries were given. There was beach view from the room. All the amenities were there in working condition. We had food in the hotel, taste and quality was good. Many varieties were there with food. There was no problem with check-in and check-out procedure. Some activities were arranged by the hotel. We went by our own vehicle for sightseeing. It was value for money hotel and I would like to recommend this hotel to other travellers. There is no suggestion for hotel improvement. It was relaxation trip. I was happy and satisfied with this hotel.

"Most romantic beach resort"

6.6/7
Posted 14 Jan, 2016

Ideally situated in the laps of nature at Havelock Island. One can't miss to appreciate the aesthetic sense of interior design, exotic private beach, romantic candlelight dinner and the warmth of the place itself! Food is average but the great news is that there are several small local food shops just within 10 mins walk from the hotel. If you are on honeymoon to Andaman and Havelock should never be missed. In Havelock, Silver Sand is the best!!!!

"Good hotel with nice facilities but expensive"

6.5/7
Posted 14 Jun, 2014

This resort was awesome. They have two portions on either side of the road. We stayed in lagoons which are the best rooms in resort facing beach. The rooms are like villas which are made up of total wood. Rooms consists of fridge, tv, electric kettle. Beds are king sized so couple can adjust if kids are small. Bathroom is not that luxury according to the prices. Per night is 15000/- so its bit expensive but worth it as you get to see sunrise and sunset from the room along with the beach. The best part is that the beach is private so no outsiders can use this beach. Now comes the food, food is awesome and the quantity was good. Staff is very well-behaved and good. Manager Mr. Pawan is very helpful and good which gives you a comfortable feeling. We stayed there for five days which is more than enough. This resort is located on havelock island which is a very small island and two days are sufficient for Andaman and Nicobar islands. Island is a bit expensive. Taxis too are very expensive so you can rent scooters or bikes on daily basis to explore the island. There is snorkelling, scuba diving, fishing but again a bit expensive. Day starts very early by 5:00 and ends too by 5:00 as by 5:30 pm it gets pitch dark. If you go out of hotel, you should come back before 5:00 pm as there is no street light and should carry first aid and some general medicines. And do not get scared if your phone doesn't work. This place does not have any connectivity. So once you are here you are out of link with civilization in one way. Overall experience is good.

"Excellent hotel with good surroundings"

6.3/7
Posted 4 Jan, 2015

It was a family vacation. I went there in June. Location of the hotel was good and near to transportation. It was located in the city. Staff of the hotel was okay but security system was little bad there. Surroundings of the hotel were very good. Staff service was immediate there. No delay in check-in and checkout time. Look of the hotel was very good from inside and outside. Room was spacious, neat and clean. Pillows, bedsheets, blankets and bathroom were very nice in the room. All facilities such as AC, TV, geyser, room heater, etc. were satisfactory and working well there. Very nice view was visible from the room. They used to clean the room daily. Food was best there. They provided North Indian food there. We are pure vegetarian so we ate only veg food in this hotel. Quality and taste wise, food was good. It was included in my package. Swimming pool was not there. They had their own private beach. Sightseeing trip was included in package. Value for money paid. I will refer it to other travellers. I will come again there in February. They should maintain security system. Havelock is an excellent place. Location and appearance wise, it was also excellent. Staff behaviour and their services were excellent. Room was also excellent. Food and drink was excellent.
