Ladakh (Leh) food, sight-seeing and shopping options
As far as food is concerned, since one has to spend 3 weeks in tents, it is mostly tinned food except when you stay at homes of Ladakhis and get simple but sumptuous dal, rice and vegetables.

Hotel Review of Singge Palace, Hotel
Comments: The ambience was very pleasing. The hotel staff were very co-opertive, sweet-natured and helping. The approach way to the hotel is a bit narrow. The food was OK , but you do feel a bit of indigestion over there because of high altitude. No Activity room though. The mountain experience was a memorable one. We could experience snow covered mountains, see yaks, pashmina goats, partirdges. We could enjoy snow falls during this time of the year. One of the toughest army life could be felt here. Monastaries and a wonderful experience. The white sand encounter at Nubra valley, Different shaded of water at Pangong, riding the highest motorable raod in the world, -7 Deg weather at Khandungla are some of teh best memories of Ladakh.
Best Experience: Please do start taking Dimox twice a day, since one day before you come to Leh and continue this dose during your stay here. This will ease out your mountain sickness problem.
Worst Experience: Nunnery monastary in one of the worst kept one.

Hotel Review of Singge Palace, Hotel
Was fantastic staying at singge palace....starting with the traditional welcome on arrival with silk scarf and a great morning tea experince in their beautiful garden. Friendly staff ... very cordial and happy to cater to your whims. I like the fact that it's a little set off from the street unlike most other hotesl, cutting out all the traffic noise and clutter. And despite that, it's very centrally located and a short walk from nearly anywhere you want to go on...
