Hi All. If you are planning to make a trip to Manali, I can now definitely recommend this hotel - Snow Peak Retreat. We just returned from our Manali vacation with my wife. We spent around 3N-4D at Manali First, the hotel location is very much in main Manali unlike many luxury hotels which are on the highway. Its almost near to the famous Hidimba temple which means you do not have to sweat very hard to locate the hotel as the temple is a famous landmark. Ample parking space - I guess at any time there can be 8-10 cars that can be parked. We were on i20 Second, the location is splendid. You get an absolute clear view of the City below, the valley, the mountains and the snow capped peaks far behind. The hotel is built in a manner where every room has the same beautiful view of the valley. So it does not matter which category of room you are in. Sorry, I missed to add that the back side of the hotel has a beautiful Apple orchard. We missed its beauty as Nov beginning is an off time for apple trees. Third, the beautiful lawns or the lawn facing balconies (which all rooms have) provide an excellent opportunity for you to bask under the bright morning sun and sip a hot cup of team or juice if you so prefer. Fourth, the hotel is clean, rooms are spotless and with all facilities to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The rooms where we stayed was a Super Deluxe room was not very big but was comfortable enough for a couple for a nice stay. Fifth, the food - This is one area where I feel they can further improve but that does not mean that the food was bad but could have been made tastier, say 4/5. However, the good part is they accommodate your request of any special meal item, like we requested for mutton and we were provided a superb mutton dish at dinner. They also have a small refrigerator (I am not sure if every room had one) which contained Juices, Mineral Water, Beer, Chocolates - of course a paid offering but at very nominal rates. We anyways did not use this Sixth and I believe the most important, the staff were very courteous. The owners themselves take special interest in making your life comfortable. We met Luder Thakur who in fact got married a week back but was very much present at the hotel to manage the operations. A very nice person to interact with. We went during Diwali and were gifted Haldiram Gulabjamuuns. Yummy. We in fact celebrated Diwali out there with the hotel staff by lighting candles and playing with fire crackers Seventh and I believe this is really important for people like me is the cost. This I believe is a hotel which gives you the best possible facilities in the most optimum budget. Although we went in off season, the rates were even lower but generally the rates are economical and the services are value for money That's all from my side. Infact the reason I chose to write such a long feedback was because of the warm hospitality that we received from them. I owe them this for sure. All those people who are still contemplating a hotel at Manali can blindly choose this unless you are one of those who will not go for anything below a Five Star. Snow Peak Retreat may not be a five start but in my opinion they are no lesser than a Five star in terms of their warm hospitality. Enjoy your stay here
As a matter of fact, I was not sure what to expect of the hotel, especially so when I had neither visited Manali nor had I heard about the hotel Snow Peak Retreat. I just knew that it was situated near Hadimba temple. The photos seen on the internet can be quite deceptive sometimes. But when I alighted from my cab, it was a pleasant surprise to see a modern building of old world architecture . . A lush green lawn spread before us as if to welcome us to this beautiful hotel. The lawns are like an open air dining area, where you can have your cuppa or simply relax. The most beautiful aspect of this hotel is you have a great view of the snow capped peaks right from your room's balcony. Adding icing to the cake, the sun rises from above the peaks, transforming the cool blue atmosphere into a gradual painting of yellows of various hues culminating into the spread of the much needed rays of warmth. I took no more than 10 minutes to complete the check in formalities after which we were shown in to our room on the 3rd floor. Only regret, the hotel does not have a lift. Anyway, the room was spacious, well lit and with well appointed cabinets, minimal furniture and a LCD TV, which beamed around 50 channels. The bed was quite comfortable with thick mattress and the rajai quite warm and cosy (since we come from south, the cold is really a deterrent). The washroom was clean and was provided with all the required amenities with modern fittings. One side of the room opened to a balcony which gave a breathtaking view of the snow peaks. I heard that during the apple season, you would find the hotel surrounded by apples on the trees planted around the hotel. We used to have our morning tea, sitting ideally on the chairs in the balcony, taking in the beauty of the mountains and the warmth of the sun. The room service was very prompt and the housekeeping was good. The room service order would take less than 15 minutes. The in-house restaurant overlooking the lawns, which provides buffet breakfast and dinner is a nice and cosy place with LCD TVs on display. Buffet breakfast per person costs Rs. 150/- and the buffet dinner costs Rs. 300 per person. The food and service in the restaurant was good. The hotel staff were courteous and unobtrusive. All in all, to sum up, I would say that Snow Peak Retreat is a nice and comfortable hotel, with all the amenities, prompt service, good food and beautiful view of the snow peaks. By the way, it doesn't dent your pocket much. Go for it if you have budget of around Rs. 4000/- per day stay and Rs. 1000/- for meals for 2 persons. Take a room which faces the peaks.
I would have not imagined my first visit to Manali would be so special and memorable even when I planned in eleven hours. I was ready to expect while my visit to Manali in a peak season with lots of hiccups and adventure because neither I had planned nor searched for anything which can assure me that it was going to be fine when I am there except this hotel management Anyways, somehow I reached Chandigarh, where Govt Volvo bus got disturbed due to some technical snag and here starts a lovely story :). I called the manager of this hotel and asked for suggestion and any help which he could provide at 2 am. He searched for some contacts and asked me to wait for his call for few minutes in which he called some tour operator and called me back with a driver name and car number. Awesome, what else one could wish for when you have someone to take you to Manali in this mid-night. And within no time, there was a comfortable Dezire car for our mountaineer journey. The driver was skilled enough to drive us safely and comfortably to our destination Facilities provided at the hotel was almost one of the best I had in most of 3-4 star hotels including spacious terrace room with nice mountain-view balcony. Quick pick-up of luggage and welcome drink with fruit basket Quick intro with management and care takers, tasty juices and hot tea started our stay at hotel. Hotel is located at little far distance from main hotel but it was plus point for those who want peace and calm environment in the lap of mother earth with beautiful surroundings I was wordless to appraise the management for all the service they provided. Breakfast to dinner, everything that was cooked in kitchen was really delicious and fresh. Tips about weather, Tours, room service and surprise gift would make plus in the package. Advantage, it was very near to all lovely points of valley and hill top In conclusion, I would say this was one of the best place to live in Manali and surely I'm going to ask my friends and relatives to consider this place to stay in first thought Happy staying and enjoy the moments.
Went in February, and it is away from the main city and hence it is really peaceful, very silent and calm. Hotel is located just above Hidamba Temple, it has a breathtaking mountain view from all its balconies. Has maple wooden flooring and very beautiful lighting at night. Though its garden makes you can take amazing photographs, also it has Apple Orchids on its side and backward from where you can take still more amazing photographs. Food is also good, service is good too. Staff is polite and cooperating with all possible ways. Out of 4 day stays one day it rained, one day it showed and two day it has been shining, so for me it is the best trip.
Everything was fantastic. Overall my stay in the hotel was good. I was able to the reach the hotel comfortably without any problem. I booked my room through a travel agent. Pick up and drop facility was available there. Staff behavior was excellent. Services were awesome. Rooms were neat, clean and well maintained. TV, AC, geyser and other basic amenities were present in the room. Outside view was available from the room window and it was fantastic. I took my food inside the hotel and it was okay-okay. I had no problem during check in and check out facility. I went there with my friends in August month 2014. Hotel arranged cab facility for sightseeing trip. Hotel was value for money.
