About Somnath Mahadev ji Temple
The Somnath Mahadev Ji Temple is situated in the main market of Pali,. Pal Solanki constructed this temple in 1209 AD. The Shiva Linga that is installed in the temple, was brought by Raj Kumar Pal Solanki, from the Saurashtra region in Gujarat. These temples were targeted, attacked and defaced by Mohammad Ghazni.
The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, represented as a Linga, along with his family Parvati, Ganesha, and Nandi, that are in the form of idols. It is a very old temple and is an example of ancient architecture Circular patterns are present on its ceilings, as well as intricate carvings on the Shikar and pinnacle.
