      Somnathpur temple is in town of Somnathpur which is 35Kms away from the city of Mysore in Karnataka State, India. Its a temple of Lord Keshava or Kesava, incarnation of Lord Krishna. This Hoysala architecture temple is in very well maintained state and the sculptures are very vivid and lively. Its a star shaped temple. Somnathpur temple was constructed in A. The. 1268 during the reign of Narsimha III by his army general "Somnath", hence the name of temple is named after him. The temple is the best preserved monument of Hoysala architecture.
