Be Aware of Sonali Hotels Tactics

PAY ATTENTION 1st The location of the hotel is excellent and well maintained. View from the hotel to the sea is and one can enjoy sitting in the room balcony or shared balcony of this hotel. This is just one reason I rated this hotel with 2 stars. Now the real story is being deceived in this hotel. 1. When I booked this hotel for almost 6 months back, I made myself clear what I need to pay, let me know and according to the amount they have indicated I did the same. In fact, the lady from Kolkata center & also from Puri center they clearly mentioned that i don't have to pay any extra amount and bill shared with me also referred to as "NIL" for future payment. I also said we were 3 people. Over the phone, the lady from Kolkata as well as Puri center said everything was inclusive. Now, when I arrived there, they said that we had to pay extra for the 3rd person per day 100 or 150 if I chose an extra mattress. Fine, I made myself clear by not wanting to go with any argument and we agreed the same and I chose 100 without mattress. 2nd line of the story. As I booked 6 months ago and GST was not applicable at the time and was only applicable last month. Now on the very first day, the manager of the hotel never mentioned about GST neither the staff of the hotel. As I had my hotel booking for 5 days so on the 4th day I wanted to pay the 500 (100 extra per day) but the manager told me that the bill book was not available at that time so asked me to make the payment next morning, so I informed before I'll leave, I will make the make which was on 5th evening. Now on the 5th evening when I paid this payment, he added 690 (12% on room rates per day) and this was never mentioned on the 1st day when I arrived. 3rd Manager of the hotel mentioned, we can do a gesture, you only pay 520 and 170 you do not have to pay and in return we won't give you the original bill. It is clear that this money goes into their pocket. Then my father told us, when we can 520, we can pay 690, so no need to help us by doing this favour on us. 4th Now the Manager started showing his true colors & misbehaved with me. I informed & reminded him of the 1st day but dismissed everything & as it got applicable last & started arguing on this facts. "Sonali company owner who hired this ass with a big hole. Teach him how behave & also teach him some manners". Okhane boshe daana gojiye geche aar katte na janle apnader customer der haranbe. Nahole customer katte lege jabe oi baje daana ta apnar Manager. 5th Well how are they cheating on you? They have different restaurant one on the ground floor where the renter of the room and outsiders can have food and the second on the 4th floor they only cook food as per the order placed with them and only for room renters and not for outsiders. They have their fixed lines and a menu card that is available as soon as you enter the room that is rented. Now that you place an order at the 2nd restaurant physically or as per the menu they will mention you a different price & they will charge you with a higher rate. So before paying the bill, check and place an order with these morons and check your bill and make the payment accordingly. We complained about this problem, but the Manager of the hotel that "moron" told us that we will we will try to take care of the same in the future. What they will take care of in the future, they will not, because that payment goes back in their pocket. So be careful and do not be fooled by these assholes hotel tactics.

The location was excellent

The location was excellent. I had visited this hotel for personal reason. The room was neat and clean. All the amenities were available in the hotel. The varieties of the food were available in the hotel. The Wi-Fi facility was not available in the hotel. The hotel staff's were friendly with us. The overall experience was good.

Serivce was good and good rooms

In the month of September 2016 I had been to this hotel. The destination and location of the hotel was good. The appearance of the hotel is good but it was old. The check in and check out was done on time. The service in the hotel was good and was very friendly and helpful. The room allotted to me was spacious, neat and it was well maintained will all required amenities in working condition. Hoteliers availed tasty and good quality of food with variety. There were activities organized in the hotel. I wish to recommend this hotel for upcoming travellers.

The food was very good with quality and quantity. The hotel was located in the centre of the city. The staff's were friendly and co-operative. There were no activities arranged by this hotel. All amenities were provided in the room.

Everything at the hotel was good

The hotel was conveniently located nearby the bus stand. I visited the hotel with my friends for relaxation trip. The interior and exterior of the hotel was god. The staffs at the hotel were good and polite. The room allotted to me was not well maintained. The food served by the hotel was good and at reasonable price. The parking area at the hotel was not spacious. The activities were not there at the hotel. Everything at the hotel was good. I would like to recommend this hotel to others.

Nice holidays

Just now I have completed my family holidays at Puri. We were there for 4 days. We have enjoy the location very much. Yet we have visit this please for a few more times. We started our journey by Dhauli Exp from Howrah in AC Chair car. The Train timing was almost on time. I was booked the Super DLX AC room at Hotel. Outside weather was very hot. Anyway we don't get any difficulty. The AC was superb in the hotel. The food quality was average in the Hotel. But have enjoy the food at Hotel Seagull, it was almost chines food, but the cost was very high. Anyway we have enjoy our local trip with a ENJOY car. We have visited full day sight seeing and Chilka. we have made a river cruise also at Chilka, But the rate was very high. We enjoy the beach very much, as well as sea bath also. My suggestion: 1. If you enjoy the holidays then book a dlx AC room as per your budget. 2. Book a AC car for local sight seeing not by Auto. If you get a good quality driver then it will be more enjoyable. 3. Be careful about your drinking water 4. Get food from good restaurant. 5. Be careful at the time of sea bath. Enjoy your holidays All the best.

Horrible experience

We 12 family members stayed in the Hotel for 4 days in 5 Super Deluxe AC Rooms - Room Nos 302, 306, 307, 308 and 309 (probably the costliest rooms) from 15th May to 18th May 2016 and our experience about this hotel is horrible. Rooms are not upto the mark, bathroom fittings are broken and filthy. Food served in the roof top restaurant in most unhealthy & unprofessional manner. Our overall experience are very bad and would think twice before referring to friends. Rothin Mukherjee. Kol - 700036.

Nice hotel

Nostalgic experience. Awesome atmosphere. Stuff behavior is also good. Bengali thali is awesome. i suggest my frnd to go there and enjoy the awesome atmosphere. Good food quality. Room is awesome. I am glad that we were able accommodate a room move for you. Also, thank you for the kind words regarding the breakfast. We are continually trying to improve the variety and quality of food items

The room price was expensive

I didn’t face any problem at the hotel. The room price was expensive in the hotel. The hotel was located 3 kilometres far from the railway station. I didn’t face any difficulty to reach the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to upcoming travellers. The internet facility was not provided in the room. The gym was arranged by the hotel. The service was good in the hotel. The interior part of the hotel was very nice. I would suggest this hotel to improve activity and room service. I had visited this hotel with my family.

Excellent hotel to stay

Highly recommended. Service, staff, room cleaning etc. I will visit again and will recommend to my other staff and all to visit this hotel while being in Puri. Services are highly recommended. Room cleaning as on when required, they immediately addressed and get the things done. Service staff are very friendly and cooperative. So as a overall they are 10 out of 10.

Good hotel & can be better

Stayed in Hotel Sonali, Puri in December 2015. The entrance and front office is well- decorated, but the rooms have some problems. The service also leaves a lot to be desired. First the good things. The hotel is on Swargadwar, so if you want to be in the middle of the maddening crowd, it's the choice for you. The hotel has a travel co-connected to it, so if you want to book a car for sightseeing, you can do it right there. The hotel has two restaurants, one at the rooftop and one at the ground floor. The quality of food in the ground floor restaurant is average at best. The food is better at the rooftop restaurant (though a bit too much spicy and oily for my taste), but the service is rather average. Also, the rooftop has poor lighting, so if you plan to have dinner there, you will be eating in semi darkness. Unfortunately, the good things end there. The rooms are not up to the mark with the doors and furniture cracked or partially damaged. There was no phone in our room, so calling the room service or reception was a problem. We were in a group, so we used the phone of a different room. The service staff is sometimes rude and often misleading. Lack of service or amenities (and/or overpricing) is a common problem in most hotels in Puri as the tourists throng Puri throughout the year and the supply of hotels is far less than the demand - so, basically it's a seller's market.

Quick services; spacious rooms

Puri is an excellent place as tourist destination. Location and appearance were very good. Booking and front office staff was excellent. Services were fast. Rooms were neat and spacious. Food and drink was delicious. Quality and taste wise, food was up to the mark. Sea beach view was visible from hotel rooms. They had their own restaurant. Whenever you required anything, they served you quickly. Activities were very fine in this hotel. I went there with my family in the month of December 2013.

Satisfactory service ; good destination

Overall my experience in the hotel was good. I had no problem to find this hotel. My stay was for five days in the hotel. Check-in and check-out facility was not delayed. Hotel was situated near to the beach. Services were fully satisfactory. I visited there with my family. Restaurant facility was available in the hotel but it was costly. Indoor and outdoor games were not available in the hotel. I took my food from outside. Cab facility was arranged by me for sightseeing trip. I booked non AC room there. TV, geyser and intercom were available in the room. Puri place is lovely destination for outing.

Good location & nice staff

The location of the hotel was good. The parking facility was not provided at the hotel. The staff behaviour was very nice and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was provided at the hotel. The bus stand was nearby the hotel.
