voted as clean

The Soochipara Waterfalls, famously called Sentinel Rock Waterfalls, is located near the town of Meppadi. Surrounded by huge hills and dense forests, it falls from a height of 100 feet to 300 feet. There is a pool below this waterfall, which is suitable for bathing, river rafting and swimming.

There are few tree top huts located near the Western Ghats Valley, adding to the beauty of this waterfall. Soochipara Waterfalls is situated at a distance of 22 km from Kalpetta and is known for rock climbing and nature walks. Nature walks are the best way to explore the destination and see deer and other wild animals near the waterfalls.

It takes 30 minutes by taxi to reach the falls from Meppadi, which has beautiful tea plantations and dense forests.

The waterfall by itself is a visual delight. Added to that is the ability to bathe at the bottom of the waterfall safely. Go prepared with a towel and change of clothes if you wish to bathe.

Soochipara waterfall is one of the best tourism spot in Wayanad where you can spend a quality time with your friends and family, Trekking up to 1. 5 Km is the main attraction, It is located near by Meppadi, and there are chances of tourist getting confused on the exact location because of improper signboards. The ideal time to visit is from July to Dec.

"Must Visit!"

  • 7.0/7

An must visit when you visit Wayanad / Vythiri.
You have to park a little away from the falls and then walk / trek a few minutes before you reach the waterfalls. The walk to the falls itself is very scenic. We went during the monsoons, so the clouds were literally touching us. Rain or sunshine, this place will surely be enjoyable. Fun to enter the water and enjoy the falls, so long as you maintain a distance as the water has very good force.

A place to go relaxation and a peace of mind. A thrilling experience but a tiring one but as soon as you hear the roar of the falls, everything is forgotten. Swimming is allowed

"An enjoyable trip for nature lovers"

The waterfall is to a depth of 200 feet below and a spectacular sight. The rock near has a resemblance with needle and hence got the name Soochippara. Soochi means needle and Paara means rock in Malayalam. The journey is through the tea plantations from Meppadi. Fee is Rs. 50/- for adults and 25/- for kids. Foreigners need to pay 90 rupees. Admission is from 8 am to 5 pm.

Average place. Small fall but OK to visit. If you want to play on the waterfall be prepared and carry the dress. We have to client little inside to reach this fall.

"Quite decent falls"

As a traveller you will be interested to visit all the places and Soochipara Falls is one place which you have to keep in mind when you go to Wayanad.

There is an entry ticket for you and your camera. You need to park your Bike/Car and trek for nearly 2 kms to reach the falls. The way for trekking this falls is too good and you will feel good once you see the falls.

I went in the time of Jan and the waterflow is quite good and I think the best time to visit this falls is in the month of August-December.

You can enter into the water near the falls and play for some time no restrictions are there.

"Nice waterfalls"

  • 5.0/7

It's a nice place to visit with friends and family and enjoy. The falls are quite nice. Not too high though. Water is a little cold and there is a small area where people are allowed to go in and have a splash. I personally enjoy sitting on a rock and dipping my feet in the cold water. Nice a place to spend time. I did recommend it :)

"Small Falls but good"

Beautiful scenic waterfall, but rocks are slippery, about 1 km walk downwards. On Summer season we can go behind the falls, through rock fissures and can enjoy the beauty.

"Very good waterfall to enjoy(beware of slippery rocks)"

This is inside the forest, around 1km distance walk to reach there, nice path and the end it's hard for aged people. Interesting fact is there is a (homely food)& homestay is there(no board is there, enough parking for four wheeler) just 100 mtr before to the ticket counter(entrance). It's just after 1st parking slot.
