Sri Veda Narayanaswami Temple, which is located at Nagalapuram, is known for the Matsya incarnation of Lord Vishnu. It is approximately 70 km south east of Tirupati and has the idol of Lord Vishnu in Matsya incarnation. It is believed that Matsya incarnation recovered the Vedas after killing the demon Somakudu.
The main idol also has Sridevi and Bhudevi on either side along with a Sudarshana Chakra in the hands of the main deity. The temple was contributed by the emperor of Vijayanagar kingdom, Krishnadevaraya. There are other sub shrines in the temple such as Sri Veeranjaneya Swami, Sri Sita Lakshmana Sameta Ramulavari, Sri Vedavalli Tayaru, Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swami and Sri Bhakta Anjaneyaswami.
