Sri Venkateswara Temple is one of the ancient and holy temples, which is located at the 7th peak of the Venkata Tirumala Hill. This temple is situated to the south of Sri Swami Pushkarini River and has been built in the traditional Dravidian architectural style. It measures 80 min width and 123 m in length.

Within its total area of around 2.2 acres, the temple houses an idol of Lord Venkateswara, which is about 8 ft in height. The idol stands under the gold gilded dome, which is known as Ananda Nilaya Divya Vimana. The eyes of this idol are covered with a tilak of camphor and are ornamented with some of the precious and semi-precious stones.

"Heaven on Earth" new review

  • 7.0/7
  • Posted 2 weeks ago
The place is to be visited at least once in lifetime by an individual irrespective of its mythological importance. The divinity of the place is beyond the imagination of any person who has faith in lord Venkateswara. Tirumala throngs with 4000 to 5000 people on an average. The temple is one of the richest in the world. It manages education, health, roads, other amenities for the residents of the region. The place is on the hills and weather is very pleasant. All the amenities provided are free. Travel can be by any mode.

"Heaven to worship Sri Venkateswara temple."

The queue for different categories should be allowed to move until. Swami darshan . Or they should not collect money for special darshan . To certain distance queues are diiferent, but when nearing east gate complete mesh started. Also the volunteers are not allowing for darshan even half a second. The purpose is not fulfilled

"NRI visit was convenient"

  • 7.0/7
  • Posted 2 months ago
We had some difficulty in identifying the Supatham line for NRIs but once we got in that line, it was easy. We were given a form to enter our names and passport numbers and then we presented the passports and paid 300 ruppees per person. We were then asked to enjoin the general line at Gate 4. It took an hour from that point to the Sannidhi. The part of the line before crossing a bridge to the main temple area was cool and comfortable with fans moving the air. The final part before entering the temple was hot with no fans, being trapped in a snakine line with a single layer of roofing blocking the sun. We had to wait a while here since there was some ceremony being performed that has stopped the line. This was the only part that was uncomfortable Darshan was brief but not superheroes since there is a portion of the line that goes straignt and sort of down a slope in front of the sanctum There is a lot of walking after the Darshan. The lines to collect Laddu were short. Allow at least 1-2 hours after Darshan to walk leisurely and visit other shrines in the temple Paraakaaram as well as the Hanuman temple at the top of a long flight of stairs The ground is hot to the bare feet and this was only the 5th of March You have to surrender your cell phone when you join the NRI line and remember to collect it when you are out near the Pushkarini tank. There are separate collection points for Supatham and others and we were misdirected by the staff and ended up going up the long flight of stairs and coming back down for the Supatham collection counter There are free and clean bathrooms everywhere and this is the most distinguishing feature for a Hindu temple in India Note that if you are travelling with luggage, you will have to pull all of your bags out of the vehicle for scanning at the point where the road is about to climb up the hill to Tirumala . For this reason, it may be advisable to stay at a hotel in the foothill and go up with minimal luggage.

A must visit at least once in a lifetime. Once you are there, I long for visiting the Lord again and again, such is an attraction, devotion, eternal satisfaction, like Moksha. It took about two hours to go through the entire route and had a heart full Darshana. Ladu Parshad is unmatched and very tasty and this Dil Mange More. Jai Balaji. Jai Govinda.

Must visit if you are in Tirupati. Just 1 Hrs journey from Tirupati to Tirumala & then free bus available from Tirumala to Tirupati temple (10 min journey)
Tip:-
1) Purchase Laddu if you visit in temple (yummy
2)Take VIP Darshan ticket of Rs 300 if you have limited time (Still VIP Darshan take 2
3)Take water bottle because their is too long queue & take 2-3 Hrs
4)No camera & Mobile allowed in temple premises

"Awesome darshan"

Lucky to have done with darshan of Lord Venkateswara in about an hour Ticket is Rs 300 and can be booked online in advance.
Buses and cabs carry pilgrims to the hill on a picturesque ghat road of about 23 Km.

"The Bliss"

  • 7.0/7
  • Posted Jan 12, 2017
Visiting this temple will remain as a bookmark in my life. I was overwhelmed with the Lord Venkateshwara's Darshan. Being a north indian I had some hesitation before reaching there, but once after reaching I felt all things like my neighborhood. The huge permises of temple welcomes millions of pilgrimages throughout the year. The laddoo Prasad is really awesome can only be taken from here. The evening classical bhajans and lights make goose bumps of everyone. Totally recommendable to person curious to know or come here. Normal queue for the temple in off season will take 4 to 5 hrs however the special darshan takes 2 to 3 hrs in off days.

"Quick Darshan"

  • 7.0/7
  • Posted Nov 15, 2016
It was a pleasant surprise for us to complete the darshan within an hour. I had visited the temple several times but this one is fastest. However the heavy pushing nearer to the God is as usual. We feel blessed. People have to follow certain traditional clothing code, such as Male to wear Lungi/ Dhoti/ Pyjama Chudidhar and ladies to wear Sarees/ Kurta pyjama with chunni.
