Pondicherry food, sight-seeing and shopping options
Being a pure vegetarian, we tried out veg foods only and near MG Road, there are couple of good places to try, but all good things come with a hefty price!
Shopping, didnt find any great shopping to do as most of them are of same price as in Bangalore. Only one shopping which anybody can do is the Cashews! Yeah, it is comparitively cheap and good quality. In MG Road, there is TKT Cashews and PRK Cashews, both wholesale and retail cashew dealers!
Sight-seeing, as most of them might know, Beach is awesome which I really liked and the Beach road...the peaceful Aurobindo Ashram, nicely built Manakula Vinayagar temple, Sacred Heart of Jesus church, Auroville PEACE globe (10kms from puducherry)

Set on Paradise point, 9 km from Pondicherry city and 4km from Auroville Ashram, this resort covers a land area of over 5 acres and has 15 rooms. As a tourist, one can also visit the Aurobindo Ashram, Museum, Park Monument, French Consulate, French Institute & Shopping area. Towards the south of the resort is the Chunnambar Boat House (15 km), Pitchavaram Sundarbans (85 km), and Chidambaram Temple Town (80 km).Towards the North there is Mahabalipuram (88 km) and towards the west is the Gingee Fort (60 km).
