St. John's Church, oldest church of the town carries immense historical significance. Constructed during the rule of Britishers in India, this church was founded by the protestant missionaries.  Located amidst beautiful natural backdrop, this church is one of the most visited churches of the town. In addition, this church conducts services every Sunday.

The place is not only popular among the devotees and religiously inclined people, but also among history lovers, avid readers and tourists. In addition, a library is also situated adjacent to this church. In this library, visitors can read through a large collection of books, which are all related to history and geography of the region. Besides, tourists can also see several rare photographs that date back to the time, when the country was ruled by the Britishers.

"Nothing attractive to see"

  • 3.5/7
  • Posted May 11, 2015
Nothing attractive there to watch because I visited in the evening. That's why the church is closed and I was unable to go inside. At outside there is no light available so nothing to see. If you want to go then go during day time.

"Has a picturesque background"

  • 4.5/7
  • Posted Apr 16, 2015
The church is nice and is well maintained. The location and the picturesque background makes it much more beautiful. During the visit to Dalhousie I must recommend to everyone. The market nearby is also worthwhile. Near the church you can find Momo and the local food market. The church is also well maintained and is one of the oldest church in the locality.

"Good place for photography"

  • 5.0/7

Located on Gandhi Chowk, this church predates almost all buildings in Dalhousie. The church looks magnificent in the dim ambient night lighting. Must visit for photography.
