"Darjeeling is a wonderful place..."
- Posted Sep 28, 2006
Best Experience: The room initially assigned was not up to the mark. However, after some plain talking, the Manager was decent enough to assign a good suite. The suite was good, had all basic amenities, including hot water and we could also have good views of the nearby mountains. Room service was good with the trainee attenders doing their job with enthusiasm.
Worst Experience: Food and activities. No activities as they were closed down - the reason being off season. With the exception of food on the last day of stay, whatever food was served was OK. On the last day, for some reason, we could not even eat the food. The main problem, however, was that many of the items listed in the menu were simply not available. The reason again given - off season...

Best Experience: since we had to be back to the resort by evening...what kept us engaged was the various activities like disco nite, singing ,tambola etc .it was real fun
Worst Experience: the staff is very simple and do not clearly understand the instructions given to them instantly...u have to repeat it to confirm if they have understood.

"A magnificent weather for all..."
- Posted Oct 18, 2005
Best Experience: The best experience was undoubtedly seeing the magnificent sunrise on Mt Kanchenjangha. We did not feel the need to go to Tiger hill! The Old Ghum Monastery is a place of serenity. In fact, I had promised myself a stay at the Sterling Resorts on my previous visit to this monastery. An acquaintance, who was kind enough to authorise her time-share in our name, made the promise come true. I\'m planning to buy some time-share myself!!
Worst Experience: A bit of mismanagement at the restaurant was visible.... the average waiting time during dinner was 45 minutes! We did not dare to ask for room service!

Best Experience: The highlight of the Resort is the view of Kanchejunga from the view point in the resort at sunrise [7600 ft.] which is simply spectacular. The rooms are well maintained and room service is prompt and satisfactory. Water is available in abundance. Book a Regular Cottage so as to have adequate space for a small family.
Worst Experience: 1. The Activity Room was in shambles. Needs to be renovated and maintained better. 2. Travel Desk offers taxi bookings at a much higher rate than available at the Resort Gate Taxi Stand whereas it should be the other way round. 3. Hot beverages are sometimes served cold at your room. Try to have everything at the restaurant.
