I went to Kodaikanal during the month of December 2016 and booked the rooms in the Sterling Holidays Valley View%2C Kodaikanal. It was my business trip with family. The destination Kodaikanal was good to enjoy with family. I would rate the location as very good transportation is easy from this place. The appearance of the hotel was good because it is clean and neat. The staff at the reception was good as they are polite and responsive. I booked this hotel via online. The house keeping services in the hotel were very good but need to extend the availability. The hotel room was very good because of nice view and facilities. The food in the hotel was good as we can have so many options as according to the season.
We stayed in the month of April and it was a family trip with wife. I booked through online. I would rate the destination as very good as it was full with scenic beauty. The location was good and there were no any other hotels nearby. The appearance of the hotel was good in terms of ambience. Front office was good and staff's was good. Room was good and comfortable. The food was good and they provided complimentary breakfast. We didn't use any services. We haven’t used any other activities. Indoor and outdoor activities were not there. There was Wi-Fi facility. The overall experience was very good.
I visited this hotel during my holidays in April. Destination wise it was best though the hotel location was average since it was a bit far away from the city. The hotel appearance was huge with nice exterior and park with lovely greenery in front of the hotel. The front office staff was prompt however we still had to wait a bit to get our rooms. The rooms were spacious and were very clean & comfortable. TV was provided in the room in good condition, the food was satisfactory especially it was available in small budget. Wi-Fi was available at the hotel along with Pick & drop facility however it was on chargeable basis.
I stayed in this hotel on October 2016 for an official purpose. The destination was excellent. Location wise this hotel was good, I travelled to this hotel by taxi. Look wise this hotel was good. Very good room was allotted to me. All required amenities were provided in working condition. Staff service was good and response was on time. Wi-Fi was provided in the hotel, but it was slow. I had food in the hotel, it was good and tasty.
The complimentary breakfast was provided by the hotel. The behaviour of the staff’s was friendly in the hotel. The Wi-Fi facility was provided in the room. The parking area was available at the hotel.
Everything was excellent in the hotel. The complimentary breakfast was provided by the hotel. The room was neat and clean. All amenities were available in the room. I would not suggest anything to this hotel.

Was looking for a couple of days off after months of non-stop work. Kodaikanal and Sterling turned out to be perfect choices in the end. Everything about Sterling Resort was as well maintained as they could get. The room, the pathway to the room, the bedsheets, the bathroom and the toilet, etc. were all in sparkling good condition. Even the buggy they have for transporting guests and their luggage was really well maintained. The food was "absolutely awesome" - We ordered everything from North Indian to Chinese to International within the five or so meals we had from there. Every single dish was beautifully served, was excellently prepared, with the perfect aroma. If not for the price, I could had carried home parcel for a week from there! Right from the security staff, to the receptionists, to the room service, to the buggy operator - everyone there was very well mannered, courteous and pleasant. It was quite apparent that they've invested well in training their staff in-depth to ensure their guests feel the worth. All amenities advertised online are well and truly available in the resort. Group activities however could have been made more interesting. We did a round of housie one evening, it was OK, but not awesome. They have all the gaming consoles (I saw a PlayStation, an XBox and another I couldn't recognise), in addition to more conventional stuff like caroms, pool, chess, etc. There was also a separate play area for small kids - something my 3-year old daughter absolutely loved. Overall, an excellent experience.
I came with my family for holiday trip with enjoyment mood. We had a good experience like the pool was really as big as it has been shown in the photos. We had had comparable room and the staffs were very caring our requests on time. We had a comfortable sleep. Housekeeping service was excellent. The food was good. If any body new to that place they are giving guidance about the place, hotel food etc. Honestly speaking how we came there with the holiday mood same was continuing till reaching our home.
I happened to visit the Sterling Valley View resort, Kodaikanal as a part of my weekend getaway. I was put in the new section of the resort (supposedly called as GRM). The location of the resort is its strength with breath-taking views from all directions.
The resort looks attractive being situated few kms away from lake.As the valley view by its name indicates we had fanatastic view of valley at its outskirts. It was a 2 bedroom cottage which was well furnished with tv,sofacum bed for extra persons, cooking utensils, warmer, electronic stove which made our stay comfortable & enjoyable.the room was covered up with suitable curtains in line up with room, wall paintaing colour. One more thing to tell is the food stuffs are bit costlier & more time consuming to be delievered.so we need to travel down near lake for rest of hotels for food to suit our budget & quick delivery. In nutshell we highly enjoyed our pleasurable stay in the resort.
Pleasant setting with focus on your enjoyment. That seems to be the focus of this resort. When you reach Kodai, just travel towards the boat club and there are enough signs to guide you to the resort. It's a quaint setting and the rooms are neat and pleasant with groomed pathways. There are even signs on the trees stating what tree it is. So shows attention to detail. Our surprise was the food. They have both ala carte and buffet and we chose a meal plan. Slightly expensive and they charge for bottles of water, which is lame. But the food was good and they had an extensive spread. They do try to ensure that they change the menu so that even after 2 days we did not feel that we were given the same stuff. The staff planned many activities and they really try to get you involved. The first night there was a singing and tambola and the second there were some group activities. In addition they do have indoor games like table tennis, carom, chess etc along with a little library. This was good, though the rates for some seemed to be on the higher side. The best they have is that you could rent bikes there and their charges was nominal. They also have treks that you can sign up for and this is really good. Would highly recommend this activity as we found the guide to be helpful. All in all this is a good resort and they go out of their way to ensure that you do enjoy your holiday. They are also very interested in your feedback. Kudos to the staff and hope they sustain their efforts. Go have a great holiday in kodai by choosing this resort.
