Summer Sands Beach Resort, Mangalore

This resort is well-maintained and located on the Someshwar Beach, Mangalore. The cottages are big and clean and well equipped. The ambiance is good as you can enjoy the nature fully. Just a minute walk and you are on the beach. Also, the restaurant and food quality are good. Evening time you can enjoy your starters and drinks on the beach itself with full safety. The staffs are well-behaved and cordial. We enjoyed our weekend at this resort with full relaxation and serenity.

Best Experience: Location of the resort, maintenance of the resort, cleanliness of the cottages, calm and quiet atmosphere at the resort, the restaurant, food (specially the breakfast and starters at the dinner), staffs, swimming pool, the sitting arrangements on the beach, music at the dinner time etc.

Worst Experience: No worst experience as such, except the cost is too much. All the facilities can be provided with a little less money.

Thank God it was Saturday that we checked as on only that that day persons with diffrent attitude on life other than the hotel staff allowed to enter the premises other than helpless guests like me - a local band called Club Expressions which made my time spent feel like a holiday. A resort best to avoid if looking at a holiday with warm freindly people and a swimming beach as the beach itself drops of sharply - a fact hidden intentionally from all. The staff are apparently trained to be curt, give tongue in cheek answers and walk away smirking and discuss this in groups with their colleagues as who snubbed the guest better. Coutesy is poor ,so is the food the service and the room. They have built their own rules as if seated for dinner no water but mineral water ,no pickles for Indian food any thing you want is charged for. The food is poor taste and quality.The seafood there is a shock for a beach resort as they apparently serve items refrigerated over a long period. The less said about the vegetarian food the better.Resort is lost in its own self confident approach as they no there will be always first timers who they can bank on for their businesss . When tried to complain I was given a card with addresses and names to do so .

Best Experience: Saturday Night Evening with Club Expression playing the songs of the guests choice at the beach with tables laid out and time spent at the the pool - the only two groups of persons who were warm and freindly.

Worst Experience: Bookings and check in check out negotiated are never noted and the whole matter had to be redone. Beach looks good but is really bad you can only stand knee deep in water - it is a really dangerous beach. If going to this place book only for one day .Every thing there is a rip off.
