I resided in this hotel in the month of February. Over all experience was excellent. As a destination Kunnur is a excellent place as I liked the kilpak. Location of the hotel is excellent. Appearance of the hotel is excellent as the interior and exterior was good. Reception service was excellent and it was a direct booking. Room was excellent as it was spacious and clean. Hotel service was excellent. Other activities like bon fire, Trekking, indoor and outdoor games were organized and it was excellent. Food was excellent with a complimentary breakfast and was tasty and lot of varieties. The best was the beautiful view, Excellent food and good service. An excellent sty in this hotel.
The hotel location was good. The hotel appearance was nice. The allotted room was neat and clean. TV and AC were working properly in the room. The food quality was good and tasty. I had visited this hotel with my family for relaxation purpose. WiFi facility was not provided in the room. Parking facility was available in the hotel. The activity was not arranged by the hotel. Garden was not available at the hotel.
I visited the place last month, as I had cousins reunion. The rooms were very clean and beautiful. The view from balcony of the tree plantation was the most eye catching part. The washroom was pretty good. It had a television with proper guidance for the channels supported. Talking about the food, it was delicious. Everything we ate was yummy. The services was a bit slow during lunch and dinner and one have to order the food around 5 hrs before. The staff were very courteous and ready anytime for service. Food were not allowed in room but still they served us food at our doorstep because we were about to have dinner late. Travellers will find it difficult to find the place, as the Google map itself tell the wrong location. They provide you with a map location, how to reach the place. But I find it difficult in night while finding the path.
Being nature lover, thought to stay in home with scenic view and opted for sunvalley home stay. Checked in to ESPLANADE, Sunvalley home stay, room which had all modern facilities with book tv screen and big in size. What amazed beyond is the balcony which is facing the tea gardens and hill view. So it was amazing to have such quite place to sit and have talking to family along with tea/coffee and snacks. Since I am nature lover, wake up in the morning and walk all over the tea gardens, take some beautiful pics around the place. Sunvalley home stay has excellent dining place which is covered with glasses to have perfect nature view while dining. Food was good and support you get from the staff was good. So I recommend people who want to stay close the scenic views with modern amenities.
We stayed at Sunvalley for two nights, we had booked it online through their site. Quite informative site, Generally you do not get what you see on web site, here same was true but in opposite direction. Actual Sunvalley is much better than what you see on web. It was a grand experience, very good & clean rooms, staff was very cooperative, I would mention a name Chotu from Odisha, Ideal person to take care of guest. Fascilities provided are great, food quality great, cleanliness up to mark. Hat's off to Sunvalley & its staff. I wish I could stay longer. Had we not booked our travel tickets in advance, I bet we would have stayed for few more days. Any one wanting to stay in a place that can provide everyone one looks for on a holiday, this is the place to stay. Atul Bapat Pune.
Stayed at this homestay along with wife and two grown up kids from 3rd to 6th June 2016. Wanted to take a break from the Mumbai grind. Chose this place based on favourable reviews on the Internet. Found it to be a wonderful place. It is not a corporate type hotel and so the experience was different. The twin bedded executive room was spacious for a family of four. A big drawback in hotels which have 3 star or more ratings is that they will not allow a family of four to stay together and force the family to occupy 2 rooms. Not only does this increase the expenditure but more importantly it defeats the purpose of a family vacation - what is the big deal in staying in 2 separate rooms. Luckily in this place, our 4 member family could stay together and comfortably. The room had a small sit-out/ balcony where I sat in the mornings, sipping masala tea and gazing at the tea estate and the hills that lay in the background. The reception area is 'cramped' by corporate standards but the staff manning the 'reception' are friendly, welcoming and receptive to the requirements of guests. They went out of the way to inquire about our needs. The place does not have any lawn or garden, so once you reach this place, you have to stick to your room. The food is extraordinary. I have tasted the best of cuisine in Mumbai and in Tamil Nadu and I found the food here to be of top quality. Their idlis, dosas, vadas along with the accompanying sambar, coconut chutney, tomato chutney, beetroot chutney, pudina chutney were super; so were the appams with the accompanying stew and kadala kootu. The peanut masala and onion pakodas were another delight. The top dishes for me was the Chicken Chettinad and the Kerala Fish Curry - the last one is divine. This place supplies you with fresh towels, herbal soap, herbal shampoo etc, so guests do not have to pack in these items, as they may fear since it is not a corporate place. The geyser works and the hot water is satisfactory. If the bathroom door and the ventilator are left open, as instructed by the Management, the room becomes cool; otherwise it may feel stuffy as we found out. The USP of this place is their Hospitality. Reena and her female colleague and Sai at the desk; Sharad and his comrades at the dining room; the cooks who conjured up those culinary delights; all of them contributed to making us feel at ease and at home. Unlike corporate hotels, at breakfast time, we can be seated comfortably at our places while their staff come to our tables and serve us with piping hot food. They also make adjustments as per our taste, in stark contrast to big hotels where they leave the guests to fend for themselves and speak snootily. Ashokan who did a wonderful job of massaging was humility personified. The Lady who owned the place was so simple and humble - amazing. All in all - a wonderful place with a superior kind of hospitality.
After much research and careful understanding I chose Sunvalley Homestay, for my one night stay in Coonoor along with my family. The drive up the hill was an exciting journey but, I was slightly unsure about the exact location of Sunvalley Homestay, Coonoor but they had put sufficient sign boards on the way that I did not need to ask anybody and reached the location easily. Appreciably they had sent me prevail email with their food menu and a map to reach the location map, which I was not expecting and came as a pleasant surprise The check-in took very little time and was amazed to see many smiling faces around me. At this point I was still skeptical about the room and it's views. As soon as I was made welcome in my room, I was completely in awe of the views available from all of the properties in this homestay A lot of planning has gone into the build and very good privacy is maintained all through the different rooms. The rooms are spacious with all amenities required. The food was awesome, simple and tasty. The views from the restaurant were breathtaking. I cannot fail to mention Mr. Chottu who made everybody's stay awesome with his smiling face and helping nature. True value for money.
The destination was very good. The location of the hotel was beautiful. The garden was available at the hotel. The parking facility was provided at the hotel. The check in and checkout was on time in the hotel. The room was neat and clean. The complimentary breakfast was provided in the hotel. The variety in food was available in the hotel. The behaviour of the was very friendly in the hotel.
We were just back from Sunvalley after 2 days of stay (April 1st, 2nd 2015). Booked the room after going through the reviews and its perfect and beyond my expectations. Specially the view from room its picture perfect and clean. Simple wash room, moderate beds, etc. As Sunvalley is situated at an end point of the road. The roads are too narrow and dirty but for the great view one need to travel through all that. We stayed in annex building and felt it better than the main building as balcony is bigger and dining room is good with excellent tea garden view The most important factor for a perfect holiday is courteous staff who help us to stay happy and the staff at Sunvalley mastered it. Its perfect and anyone expecting more at that location is just an over expectations. Even their pet dog joined their team to be courteous and helpful to the guests. Henry the pet dog escorted us on both the days on our morning walk to the tea estates and even guided us through out when we missed the lanes. Lovely dog Food, this is another area Sunvalley really mastered. Awesome food, both veg and non-veg. We had some of the best spicy dishes perfectly done. We need to order in advance only and we even got the regular veg meals after our arrival and without advance intimation. The staff made us a quick meal and that's perfect. Breakfast is a bit disappointed as a general expectation of heavy breakfast during holidays. Its just two varieties available for breakfast. Could add some continental stuff for the kids. Cornflakes, toasted bread, omelet along with the south Indian dishes given Overall, a perfect place to enjoy nilgiries, and wish to visit again very soon. All rooms have good view but prefer 1st floor in anexxe building for a 100% perfect.
Nice location, surrounded by lush greens. Room we stayed in was clean, big and maintained. Interior was also nice and view from the room was amazing. Staff was very polite and prompt on the call. Service was the best feature of the stay. Food was nice too and I would like to recommend this.
We visited this place in the month of May with our family including kids. We are from Chennai, chose this place because we wanted a clean place with good scenic views and to relax peacefully. We got all we wanted. It is a very nice place to stay at Coonoor. It has spacious rooms, tea gardens at the back, you can take leisure walk there in the mornings and evenings. The rooms on the top floor has better views than the lower floor. The entire place looked clean, green and beautiful . . The complementary breakfast was really good, even the kids ate it happily, no complaints at all. The food we ordered also was given on time and also it did not spoil our stomach, the food was very homely, this was one of the other reason why we chose this place. The staff were really good, they will attend to all your requests immediately and their smiling faces makes you feel more welcome and happy. They will clean your rooms and bathrooms everyday The plus points about this place would be beautiful view, friendly staff, peaceful location, clean rooms and homely food. The minus points are they don't have good cab service for sight seeing and the road leading to the hotel is muddy and after rain it becomes worst no tar road (but only few meters). The rest of the road is okay. I think they should hang a name board outside.
Awesome place to spend a wonderful time with your loved ones. We went to celebrate our 7th marriage anniversary and were glad that we choose that place The beautiful view from the room balcony was awesome. You can have a lovely walk in the private huge tea estate. They arrange bonfire if you inform in advance Food was thought mostly South Indian but we ( North Indian) loved the food so much. The only drawback is one need to place the order before 11:30 in morning and 5. 30 in the evening. Staff of the homestay was very nice. Room service was pretty fast Approaching to this place was bit tricky, so get the directions in advance. There was no nearby restaurant so you have to be dependent on the homestay food but, as I told food was really very tasty Better to get the room on the 1st floor to get a good view of the tea garden We will recommend this place if someone wants to spend quality time away from city hustle bustle.
It's a privilege to write a review for Sunvalley Coonoor. I was travelling from Wayanad en-route my year end trip and had to book a hotel via online as my destination was Otty. Ended up picking Sunvalley Coonoor and one amongst the best bet I took. The approach road can be a deterrent - yes - it's totally slippery - most natural in places such as Ooty, Coonoor, but once inside the hotel it's totally a different world About the location - The hotel is picturesquely located in front of Tea Estate. Getting a room with elevation and facing the Tea Estate can be the best - sipping an early morning tea or coffee viewing the above Tea Estate can be a good start to the day. Also, we can have a friendly walking tour inside the estate - need to check with Front-office before doing so Food - One word - awesome. We had complimentary breakfast for all the 3 days we stayed and I can't even point one minor issue. Even the other foods we ordered during dinner was very nice Staff - Very courteous & Helpful Will definitely camp in Sun Valley if visiting Ooty again.
