Susunia Hills... stay for 2 days - Weekend special

Susunia Hills is a fantastic place to visit in winter season and specially in the weekends. Take chatradharpur express from Howrah (around 10 pm) and get down at Chatna station (around 5 am). From Chatna station come to bus stand and take a car and directly go to susunia Hills. The best stay at susunia Hills is West Bengal forest department bunglows. You have to book online from forest department website (please note these bunglows are of high demand hence you need to book at least one month to two month prior). Beautiful scenic beauty and main attraction is the forest department bunglows, make sure you get those. Food is very good and it is supplied by one of the hotel situated just adjacent to the site. The name of the hotel is ROY HOTEL.... Hotel is OK but make sure you bring the food to the room. Enjoy every bit of your stay at susunia

Good for a trek

Susunia Hills in Bankura is more than 1000 fts high. Susunia is quite a popular tourist destination in Bankura. It is a good spot for trekking but the summer heat is impossible to beat. So brace yourself with umbrellas and hats if you are visiting any time between March to October. There are shops selling goods made of stones and clay. One can also take an alternative route through the back side of the hill where there is a village and a few stone scriptures.

A very good site for amature trekking

Take a visit to this place for a quick trekking session.the lap of the hill is a city with numerous number of shops and lodges. The base also hosts a beautiful temple and a natural fountain which gulps out water all year round. You can also go on a trekking uphill. The view is mindboggling from the top of the hill.Carry sunglasses and umbrella and if you are going on trekking do not forget to take the stick available for rs.5 from the shops at the base of the hill.
