About Susunia Hills

Susunia, the second highest hill of Bankura, famous for rock climbing and trekking, attracts people to see the ‘Dhara’ (Natural Spring) and Silialipi. This spring is considered holy by the locals.

There is also an ancient carved stone called ‘Narasingha stone’ standing at the point where the spring water comes out. The hill with a height of 1442 feet spans nearly two miles. The site also features the stone inscription belonging to King Chandravarman.

"Good for a trek" new review

  • 5.0/7
  • Posted 1 week ago
Susunia Hills in Bankura is more than 1000 fts high. Susunia is quite a popular tourist destination in Bankura. It is a good spot for trekking but the summer heat is impossible to beat. So brace yourself with umbrellas and hats if you are visiting any time between March to October. There are shops selling goods made of stones and clay. One can also take an alternative route through the back side of the hill where there is a village and a few stone scriptures.

"A very good site for amature trekking"

  • 6.0/7

Take a visit to this place for a quick trekking session. The lap of the hill is a city with numerous number of shops and lodges. The base also hosts a beautiful temple and a natural fountain which gulps out water all year round.

You can also go on a trekking uphill. The view is mind boggling from the top of the hill.

Carry sunglasses and umbrella and if you are going for trekking. Do not forget to take the stick available for Rs. 5 from the shops at the base of the hill.

A well known spot,a 1200 ft high hill. A good landscape, with a number of temples nearby. Trekking can be done. A beautiful eco-tourism government resort is there.

Perfect example of natural beauty, surrounded by hills. Advisable to visit, if in Bankura.
