Stayed at the Falaknuma Palace with the family and was an excellent getaway from busy life. The staff is very courteous and the hotel facade is super impressive. Loved walking about during the evenings. Room tariff is not too steep. The property is worth the price.
Room was spacious with clean. All amenities were provided in the room. The activity was not arranged by the hotel. Behaviour of the staff was friendly. The food quality was good in the hotel. Transportation facility was available nearby the hotel. The hotel was located in the city. Check-in and check out was done on time. I had visited this hotel with my family.
Nice place to stay and visit. I visited this place with my family and friends. One of the most beautiful place. Once again I will try to visit this place with my family and friends. This is one of the best tour in my life.
Was visiting the Shri Salem temple with a large group. Stayed here for 2 nights. They gave our rooms together and provided excellent service. The food is also very good. The rooms were a little smaller than I expected, but clean and beautiful. A worthwhile stay.
Taj Falaknuma Palace is located about a 45 minute drive from central Hyderabad. Only guests and those who have reservations at one of the hotels are permitted to enter the hotel grounds It is a nice drive up a small hill as one approaches the hotel. Here, after the security check we were transferred to their large gold carts for the ride to the hotel. There is also a horse drawn carriage for the same purpose On the way we passed the stables where they maintain a few horses and also saw some peacocks on the way The entrance to the palace is grand. The staircase leads us to the entrance. The Taj group took several years to refurbish the hotel and tried to use as much of the original materials as possible. They have done an incredible job. We met the bodyguard of the Nizam and he agreed to give us a personal tour of the hotel and all the different rooms. The original paintings, furniture, wood, paints have been maintained. The wood looks like new although it is very old. The ball room is huge. The dining room has a 101 seated original dining table with some incredible acoustics in the room. Sitting at the table one can whisper and can be clearly heard at the other end of the table The main staircase has no supports. As one walks down the back courtyard the lead to the different rooms. Other than that around the four corners of the palace are the 4 suite rooms. These are in the main palace building. The other rooms are at the back.
If you want to experience living like royalty then spend a day or two here. This used to be the Falaknama Palace of the Nizam of Hyderabad which the Taj has taken over. The restoration of the main building was done very carefully to maintain the old splendor The wooden stairways and ceilings are magnificent. The wood simply shines. The stairways in the main building is just grand. The dining room is one of a kind. Its famous 100 seater table with remarkable acoustics is a treat. You can sit at one end and be heard at the other. This is given out for grand dinners and weddings The ballroom is a bit small. Even though they have maintained the old feel decor it gives you a smallish feel The grounds are well maintained and peaceful. You may have a peacock for company if you step out for a stroll. There is horse riding available for guests as the stables are on the property I am told the suites in the main building are really very well done and have the royal charm. We stayed in the rooms away from the main building which have been renovated. Even then our stay here was truly luxurious The service is excellent and it upholds every superior standard of the Taj Name.
The best trip of Taj Falaknuma Palace. You can enjoy a lot there. It is really the best place in the world. This is just awesome. I love the service and food and one thing the best - swimming section is just wow. Can't wait after seeing this awesome place. Thank you so much for the best trip of my birthday.
The only Taj luxury hotel on a hill. The hotel is located in the old city area of Hyderabad. The short ride to the top of the hill is by a luxurious Horse carriage. At the entrance, rose petals are showered on you. A welcome drink of your choice, you can choose or which is readily offered. Check-in is done in your room. The rooms are luxurious, with a separate dressing room leading to the restroom which is top notch, with gold and ceramic fittings. For Bath, the housekeeping staff make the bathtub with milk and top it off with rose petals and at the desired water temperature as per your request. The room has a DVD player and flat screen TV, all the movies in the Dvd menu are free. A tour of the palace is offered to the residents too. Has a library with old books dating back to centuries and an awesome Spa too The restaurant offers the best of the world cuisines. The Bath robe is made of a special variety of blue silk. The food is awesome and drinks too are made as per your liking. The palace architecture are intricate. The staff make sure you live King size at the Falaknuma. There is a dining room on the first floor with a real long wooden table and a toy train carrying the dishes around the rich wooden table. The hotel also has an officio room where the late nizam would spend his time for official work. It has a phone which had a hotline to the government in charge then. The lobby's decor includes a large antique musical clock.
Taj Falaknuma is a gem of a place if you want to experience what royalty felt like in the yesteryear . . The palace has been restored to its original beauty by Taj Hotels and their efforts are truly commendable, especially when you compare the current palace with photos from early 1900's. The palace is atop a hill which overlooks the entire Hyderabad city offering breathtaking views of the city in the evening. They don't allow cars into the palace, so when you reach the main gate you will be welcomed by a short horse carriage ride to the palace, followed by a shower of flower petals when you walk up the steps to enter the main palace. The rooms at Falaknuma are really luxurious and are done up tastefully. We opted for the historic suites, which offered beautiful views of the city from our balcony. The staff at Taj Falaknuma deserves a special mention, because frankly they are ones who make sure you feel like royalty from the time you enter the palace. They leave no stone upturned to pamper you and make sure all requests are fulfilled . The palace in its own offers so many things to do that we didn't get a chance to step out there is the champagne palace walk with a historian telling you stories of the Nizam, there is Sufi in the evenings at the Gol Bungalow, their library houses some of best collections of books, we also played some croquet which was great fun and last but not the least you can even dress up like the Nizam and Begum and get a couple of beautiful pictures. Of course there was a very nice pool and the Jiva spa but we didn't end up using those. The palace has 2 restaurants, Adaa, which offered Indian cuisine and Celeste which was their continental/Italian cuisine restaurant we had all our meals here, the food was excellent and the service was even better. This place has really set the benchmark for me when I go visiting any other palace properties across India. It was a WAH TAJ experience
