What travellers are saying about this hotel
Value For Money:
Unlike most in Bangalore, it is a low rise group of heritage buildings set in a beautiful verdant garden of 22 acres. It is a haven of peace in a bustling city. The rooms are lovely, most with balconies looking into the gardens and forest. All facilities are available, including spa, pool and tennis court. The restaurants (South Indian and Vietnamese, plus multi-cuisine coffee shop) are very good. But, what is truly outstanding and memorable is the quality of the staff. The concierges, led by Mohammed, are outstanding: among the best I have encountered anywhere in the world. They are courteous, efficient, knowledgeable, and willing to go out of their way to help guests.
This hotel has changed from the time I was last here. I visited it last in February 2000 and now during the early part of 2011 it is in the centre of Bangalore instead of being at the far end of the city as it used to be those days. Those days, I remember arriving at the hotel was an exercise and used to be difficult if you did not have a prompt car driver to pick you up from the smaller airport that used to exist those days. These days you can hail an auto rickshaw from another part of town and putt putt to the entrance to the Taj West End. As a result, the dynamics of the hotel itself have also changed. Those days, it was an exclusive hotel with no parallel in the whole of south India. Today it is one of the many luxury hotels in Bangalore. The effect has been well entrenched in the hotel’s service and the food on offer.
Absolutely beautiful hotel with stunning gardens, fantastic rooms, amazing service and out-of-this-world food. Staff go out of their way to make your stay the most memorable and special ever. Just be aware that if you are female you tend to be invisible!
Taj West End is probably the best 5 Star hotel in Bangalore. The Staff is extremely courteous. I have visited this hotel multiple times and have never been disappointed. PROS : 1) Amazing Property - Slightly Old though. 2) Their Restaurant serves probably the best Deal in Town. The breakfast is worth it too. 3) Service is impeccable. 4) Rooms are Huge but with slightly old amenities. 5) Best parties in Town - Holi Bash is a must attend. CONS : 1) Old Property and hence Amenities - I faced a few problems with my Fridge and TV. Overall - Best place to stay at in Bangalore.
Excellent hotel. Very nice ambience. Loved the hotel. Tasty food was there. Room servicing was also very good. Spa, swimming pool and every facilities were excellent. Staff were also very nice and humble. We enjoyed a lot in Taj west end. Room was excellent.
The Taj West End is a beautiful, old hotel located on Race Course road. I loved my stay here in August this year, and I would certainly stay here again. The first thing you should know is that this is an old property which is massive. So you've beautiful scenery even within, and nice stretches of road to walk after a good meal. Tip: Pick a room towards the fag end of the property as the tree cover in that area is pretty dense! The room is extremely modern, a contrast to the exterior of the hotel. All facilities expected of a Taj are provided, which includes a very courteous staff. Food here is great on quality as well as taste. You have the option to dine in the open as well, which is recommended as Bangalore's weather is pleasant. Since the hotel is on Race Course, you've easy access to other parts of Bangalore city which is hugely important as the traffic here is pretty bad. I would fully recommend Taj West End to anyone looking for a 5-star hotel in Bangalore.
