About Talakona Waterfalls

    • Entry: Paid
    • Not Allowed: Pets

Talakona Waterfalls is situated at about 49 km from Tirupati and is regarded as the main entrance to the Tirumala Hills. The water drops from the height of approximately 270 ft, which makes it the highest waterfall in the state of Andhra Pradesh. It is located in Sri Venkateswara National Park, which lies in the Chittoor District. Local inhabitants believe that the water of Talakona Waterfalls possesses some medicinal values.

Situated next to this waterfall is a small temple, which is dedicated to Lord Siddeshwara Swamy. This temple is usually crowded during the Shivarathri festival, which is a very popular event in this region. The ideal season to see the waterfalls is between November and January, when the climatic conditions are favourable.

The Talakona waterfalls is situated around 50 km from Tirupati, the journey in this route is beautiful. Waterfalls there is one magic of lord Venkateswara. When we stand at the water falls and if we say GOVINDA the flow of water is increased double than the normal water. That's the magic of lord Venkateswara. We enjoyed a lot and don't panik at the water falls. It was very dangerous, there is no preventive measures, enjoy the falls.

"Worth the visit"

We started to Talakona from Harsily hills. We reached there in the evening around 6'o clock, the closing time. The security initially, did not allow but on request, allowed us a short stay. To reach the waterfall we need to walk 1.5 hours by road, through the jungle. Kids had a bath in the waterfall.

"Cherishing experience at Talakona Waterfall"

  • 7.00/7
  • Posted Jul 16, 2014
The Talakona Waterfall is a Resort with Waterfalls, dense forests and wildlife at about 58 km from Tirupati. It was a wonderful experience of mine as I had a direct interaction with Deers, Monkeys, Huge Forests and the beautiful Talakona Waterfalls. We have to allot a day for the Talakona Waterfalls and take a Taxi from Tirupati so that we can fully enjoy the visit. We have to walk for about 20 - 30 minutes after alighting and had firsthand experience of these great waterfalls. Fresh waters which is rarely seen in todays polluted world is a cherishing experience. Also in the midst of it there is a well maintained restaurant in dense forest offers a good menu of south Indian dishes, which was quite surprising. After completing the visit, we had our lunch at the restaurant.
