the hotel is quite easily accesible and is close to anjuna beach. nice good old heritage feel to the hotel when enter it. the rooms however are of small size.the breakfast is good and the in house bakery is excellent. fresh made cakes and pastries.live musical events happens during breakfast on sundays and wednesday night.
Stayed here for a short one but got the vibe. location-Good close to beach around 15min,it is close to center but still peaceful. Bathroom-Big with hot water all day with clean towels, everything works perfect. Breakfast-Tasty with good options to eat, eggs to order was my choice, some indian food is also there. Service-From check inn to check out everything worked great. Food-They have a good restaurant attached looks good with live music in night it fells very nice. Overall- A good option if you are planing to stay near Anjuna.
Top Reviews of The Tamarind
I stayed at this hotel with some of my friends who were travelling as a family. We were 5 in number with a small kid. This place had nice pool and lovely little garden with some vintage bikes. The Cotinga restaurant is good and especially the restaurant manager who was kind enough and prompt at our menu requests. The theme of caged Cotinga birds was well captured in the restaurant and the garden. Food served was good and breakfast buffet was fine. Not too wide spread but yes they serve good options. Location of this place is an advantage, on the way to Anjuna beach, it's about 3.5 kms from here to beach. Even other lovely beaches like Baga, Calungute, Vagator and nearby beaches are easily reachable on 2 wheelers. One can rent a bike from Tamarind or there are many places at a walking distance on the way to Anjuna, were some discount can be easily gained, so here ends the list of PROS. The list of CONS are also a must, so here they go..... The rooms are small and surely they must change the bed mattresses, because they are badly broken. So when we had checked-in for some upgrade thing we were given room number 303 and 304. 303 was bigger and had nice decor but the main drawback of this rooms was smelling bad. Washroom was stinking a lot and to the extent that even in utter emergency we could not had used it. One day which we had spend here in these 2 rooms we had to thrice ask housekeeping for spraying room freshener. And then when our patience ended we asked for another room so we were now moved to room number 203 and 204. Rooms were surely small and there was hardly any place to even move around, but they did not stink and mattresses were little better. Now since there was a child with us we were carrying some lays packets with us which housekeeping thought were consumed from the minibar. We kept on saying the same and there was this woman from housekeeping who sounded more like a school teacher and did not show the slightest politeness which should be shown to the customers. Rest of the housekeeping staff was also not polite. I would rate the housekeeping as -1. Even the windows of one of the room was not functioning so we couldn't get any fresh air. Even wifi was too slow. So the cons of sure mattresses, smaller rooms and housekeeping. So take down your priorities and then chose the place. I would not mind again going here if they provided I get a bigger room. Room Tip: Don't get moved with the pictures and make sure you get the spacious rooms.
This was our annual family holidays with my sisters and brothers-in-law, the hotel is good and in a location away from the crowd which were looking forward to but locating it was pain as the hotel has not put any sign boards/directions on the major junctions. Parking cars were hassle as there is no parking inside the premises and you have look of space on the road outside the hotel. Our visit was in Oct 2015, since it was a long weekend the hotel was full, first about the property the it looked spacious with lot of trees, but as construction/repair work was going on it was little disappointing as construction material laying around and maybe because of the repair work the property was not maintained up to the mark, nothing special of the lobby, the rooms were decent, comfortable, neat and clean. All the rooms were facing the small pool, the tiles in the pool were chipping off. Food was great and the free breakfast was good. There was lot of noise/ disturbance outside our room which was located on the ground floor as some of the guest were sitting on the pool chairs chit chatting with screams and giggles, which went on till 2:00 am, had to complain the staff to put an end to it. The cakes and bakery items were good. I would certainly recommend the hotel for the location, just a couple of kms from the Anjuna Beach, great place to spend quite and comfortable stay, good food and for the comfortable rooms.
I stayed there in May 2013. It was located nearby beach. It was a family vacation. Appearance of the hotel was excellent. Staff was professional and helpful there. Service was okay there. There was no delay at the time of check-in and check-out. Room was not spacious but it was neat and clean. Bed sheets, pillows, blankets, and all were excellent in the room. AC, TV, geyser, hair dryer or everything was provided there. Everything was working well. Mountain view was visible from the room. Chinese and other varieties of food were available there. Breakfast was complimentary in this hotel. Buffet system was not there. Veg and non-veg both types of food were available there. Quality and taste of it was very good. Check-in and check-out was done on time. Vehicle was arranged by the hotel people for sightseeing but it was chargeable. Price wise, hotel was little expensive but it was okay. Swimming pool and indoor activities were there they were complimentary. I was fully satisfied with this hotel. I will recommend this hotel to other travellers. Goa as a destination is excellent. Location of the hotel was good but it was little interior. Staff behaviour and services were excellent. Room was also excellent. Food and drink was excellent. Activity wise, it was also excellent.
I traveled with my wife and three other couple stayed there for three nights and four days. The hotel was very good, rooms were small but very comfortable and with very good amenities like 52" led television, freezer, coffee maker and etc. Food was outstanding including complimentary breakfast. Swimming pool was very clean.
The overall experience was good at the hotel. I had visited this hotel with my friends for personal trip. I didn’t face any problem to reach the hotel. I would not suggest anything to this hotel because everything was good at the hotel. The behaviour of the staff's was very good at the hotel. The food was available in various varieties except south Indian food. The parking place was available in the hotel. The garden was available in the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to upcoming travellers. The best part of the hotel was service. The swimming pool was available in the hotel was nice.
