No tv, clock in 4 bedded room. Very old room with big heavy fans and old furniture. Front of the room is large empty space with no maintenance and mud and bushes growing anywhere. Terrible food at restaurant, they don't understand orders properly and serve different goods. Drinking water is dubious whether it is clean and fit for consumption.
Location is in a quite place. However there is a railway track close by so one can hear a passing train now and then. Hotel looked to be empty when we checked in into double AC room. Rooms are big, bed sheets are clean, A/c was working fine. Service is okay. Service boys always looking for tips. Breakfast and lunch was decent in the restaurant. Not much variety for breakfast except idli, Vada, pongs and Upma. Lunch was meals. Complimentary breakfast and lunch/dinner. Did not get hot water although geyser was on. Plenty of parking space. Quite remote place but those looking to stay for the night and spend their morning time outside, this is okay as the rates are much lower than other hotels which are on the busy street and costly. This hotel is a bit far from the temples (average 1. 5 km away). A typical govt hotel where basics can be expected. Staff is friendly and attend to calls. Bills are not given in restaurant. Overall it is okay to stay if you are on a tight budget and don't mind the service provided and prefer to be at the hotel for some rest in afternoon and sleep at night.
It was a holiday trip with family in the month of December. The city was good. The environment of the hotel was excellent as it was near to the lake and market. The appearance of the hotel was very good. The room provided for us was well maintained and was very neat and clean. All the amenities were provided and were in good condition. There were WiFi facilities available. The front office services were good and responded very well. The staff's were very cooperative and were excellent. The food provided was good and delicious. The service provided at the hotel was excellent.
Hotel Tamil Nadu in Kanchipuram looks very good from the outside but is not so from the inside. The place is infested with bed bugs and all the bathrooms have cockroaches running around. It offers all the basic amenities such as hot water and TV. It also has a restaurant attached to it and the breakfast is complimentary. Both AC and non AC rooms are available. But it lacks basic hygiene and really needs to get a pest control done. Also, the place is overpriced, as we ended paying over Rs. 2000 for a room with 2 beds and another extra bed. They also refused to give us another extra bed (we wanted 2 extra beds, but got only 1). Overall, I would not recommend this place to anybody as there are a lot of cheaper and insect free options in Kanchipuram.
The overall experience in this hotel was good. I abides this hotel during September. The location of the hotel was good in the city. The appearance of this hotel was good looking. The staff were cooperative and friendly in the hotel. I faced no delay in any services. I did not take food in the hotel. The room in this hotel was good with required amenities. No activities seen in this hotel.
I visited Kanchipuram for religious purpose, I. E. Darshan of Mata Kamakshi and Ekambareshwar Mahadev Temple etc. Had a good experience. I booked two non-A/C rooms through email but found a great dissatisfaction at that place. Rooms were good with free breakfast but notice that breakfast is not available till 7:30 am, if you have to leave in early morning as I have to, you don't get breakfast. Mattress was good, thick and soft. Bed was comfortable as well as spacious. Other amenities were: LED large TV set mostly all famous channels was available with good and clear quality. Nearby no good restaurant is available, when I visited so remember to take meal near to bus stand or Railway Station. The most problematic was arrogant and silly behaviour of Staff. Another Important thing is that most people book through agent sites, E-mail or other things but REMEMBER! Book only through hotel's official website.
Had a comfortable stay here 2 nights for a friends wedding. Average maintained hotel. Though somewhat far from the city. Didn't matter to us since we were in the hotel the entire time. Rooms are extremely spacious. No good view from outside. Good but could have been better. Slow service and need improvement. Complaint was there was no free WiFi available.
It is in the heart of Kanchipuram from where one can cover all temples nearby. It belongs to govt of Tamil Nadu tourism, so one can expect a reasonable fare. Food is good but only South Indian and few North Indian dishes. There is an attached bar where you can get almost all drinks available and Tamil Nadu. If one expects more sophisticated top class hotels you can book in great regency.
I have stayed with my family for two days. Wonderful venue with sufficient place with good atmosphere with well grown trees and also rooms are too good with less rent & service provider(Manger) to contact for stay at is also fine. It needs to improve the restaurant facility as it is far away from the main market place. It is opined that, the travelers who visit Kanchipuram as a tourist, commercial and also as a consumer it is most convenient to stay @.
I had visited this hotel with my family. The food facility was not provided at the hotel. I don't have any suggestion for this hotel. The room was comfortable with clean and neat. All the facility was provided in the room. I didn't check WiFi facility in the room. The external and internal of the hotel was fine. I was satisfied with this hotel stay. From the room there were views. The railway station was nearby the hotel.
