The best thing of this hotel is the view. You may not get the same view in anyof the hotels in rameswaram. Next factor is that it is very next to the temple. So both ways I recommend this hotel. Always go for the first floor room facing sea. The view in the morning is really nice. Also being near to temple, you can offer prayers in the temple early....Read More
No hotel in town can beat the location. This is bang on the sea front with Auto stand right outside the gate .. It's an open and large property, rooms size too is good and clean for govt standard hotel. Strongly suggest to pay some extra and stay in sea facing unit .. Worth it Dont try restaurant ... Its bad
Nice hotel near sea shore and enjoy the nature and blue water there. I must say in future also I go to that place again. The hotel and their staff are also good. I recommend everybody to visit that hotel and enjoy the beauty. The communication from that hotel is very good.

Top Reviews of Tamilnadu Hotel
Rameshwaram is one of the famous pilgrim centres in India. Pilgrims gather there to cleanse their souls by the holy bath in Ocean. Adventure lovers can make a trip to Dhanushkodi , the 'Ghost Town' and beyond , to the last point near RamaSethu , from where we can see the first island of Srilanka. Hotel TamilNadu (TTDC) is undoubtedly the best place to stay in Rameshwaram. The location itself will prove this fact. The resort is located in a vast area just 15 metres near to the ocean. Spread in acres of greenery filled area, the resort will give you a combination of sea breeze and fresh air. Unlike all other hotels in Rameshwaram , which are located in totally congested and filthy roads of the temple town , this resort is the best option for a calm stay , away from rush, but at the same time walk-able from the temple. Booking the hotel can be a problem. They have an internet booking , but when I tried that, it was showing results which are different from what I got from telephone enquiry. The other option is to book directly in their offices which they are located in capital cities of other states. I'm from Kochi , Kerala , but the booking office was at Trivandrum. There is no telephone booking. You have to pay the entire amount in advance. Luckily I had my friend there in Trivandrum who booked the rooms and send me the receipt by post :-) Front office was really good and helpful. The rooms were ready and we did not have to wait for anything. They also gave a card with all destinations in and around Rameshwaram and introduced a driver whom you can avail for visiting these places Service was overall good. We booked a Triple Bed Non A/c room which costed us 1000/- + Tax per day. The room was a decent and spacious one. It has an attached closet with a wardrobe and washbasin. The main room had a television , 3 chairs and a small table. They had 3 plug points , though you have to make some adjustments in your equipment position to get them supply power ;-) The resort has a very good restaurant, which is open to all (apart from those staying there). The booking will have a complimentary breakfast. All meals are buffet ones. It was really worth and good. The resort has a small BAR also on the other side. A beer costs you 130. good generator back-up that can stay the whole thing up and running. The whole town is suffering from frequent Power-Offs, but the resort has a very There is a Play area for Children which has got a few swings, see-saws and merry go rounds in the shades of huge trees
Hotel has a beach front and opposite to a jetty. Its very close to the temple and possibly the best option if you want to stay close to the main temple. The restaurant is decent, but sometimes you have to wait for long time.
This was a family stay on 1st Oct 2015 and I had been planning to visit Rameshwaram to see Pamban Bridge & Dhanushkodi. Hotel Location :Excellent, as this is full sea facing (Bay of Bengal) right across the beach road. Although you get a bit troubled with the words 'tsunami' and 'cyclone' in your mind. The road leading to the hotel is partially barricaded at a location where there is a common parking for all other hotels. You need to specifically tell the people near the barricade that you are going to TTDC, then they will let you cross the barricade and go to the private parking of TTDC. The hotel is built on a large ground with lot of flora around. Some domestic birds like pigeons and ducks will keep you occupied with a semi-sunken aquarium. All these are near to the kids park. There are two wings for the rooms, and when we arrived an extension of a wing was carried out in earnest, indicating that there is indeed good business. The rooms are booked with breakfast. The restaurant is within the property premises. The room we booked was quite large. Food is pure veg only. No Bar. There were warning signs posted on the door to keep the windows/doors always closed as there was a huge disturbance caused by crows which can enter your room (which can flick your things from the room/table). The hotel is located very close to the lovely Rameshwaram Temple and the sacred bathing spot. Unfortunately the temple did not allow any type of photography equipment to be taken inside (camera or even mobile phone). On the way to the hotel spent quite a bit of time on Pamban Bridge.a gorgeous place with the greenest/aqua colored water I ever saw in India. In the evening went to Dhanushkodi and was in new to know about the sad truth of the 1964 cyclone which killed and wiped away the whole town of Dhanushkodi (which is now called as a Ghost Town). Had a lovely sunrise view the next morning from the Hotel.later went to see Late Dr. APJ Kalam's residence which is again quite close to the Hotel.Overall it was a lovely 2 day/1 night trip. Highly satisfying.Adding few pics with my review.
For a family trip to Rameshwaram, we had booking in Hotel Tamilnadu which is run by TTDC. Booking of hotel was difficult as their online site has regular downtime. Location of the hotel is superb. Check-in was comfortable and they are very flexible in providing extended stay or short stay. Rooms were small but very well maintained. Staff are very courteous. Our room was on the first floor and we had a perfect view of sea from there. Ferry point for boat ride was connected to the hotel only. Rameshwaram main temple and other few point of interests including Agnitheertham are at very short walking distance from the hotel. Hotel has a great restaurant. Food was like homemade and very tasteful. If one has to stay in Rameshwaram, the first choice should be this hotel only for a budget as well as for luxury travellers.
It was a good hotel. Facilities of the hotel were very good. Hotel was really convenient for us. The place is really good. Temple was really nearby the hotel. I went there in July. Location wise, it was very good. Appearance of the hotel was average. It looks like normal building. There was no delay in check-in and check-out procedure because we did book it a day before going and everything was convenient for us. I stayed there for 3 to 4 days. Booking and front office was good. Staff was really friendly. Services of the staff were very good. Room was really spacious and well-maintained. Toilets were really clean. Everything was good there. Everything like TV, AC, geyser, etc. was provided in the room and in working condition. Room was very good. We took breakfast there and they provided 4 or 5 dishes in it. Food was excellent. Children park and all other games were present there but we did not have much time to visit all that. Activity part was average. Rameshwaram as a tourist place is very good.
