Tawang food, sight-seeing and shopping options
Food is very expensive. I stayed in Tawang View. There are many Tawang View hotels in Tawang but try to get one which is near the Emporium ... it is new and much better but a bit far (2 kms approx.) from the market place. The food in the hotel is very good. There were no resturents nearby so better to eat in the same hotel where you are staying. I did not find anything interesting for shopping. There are only 4 interesting places to see as sight seeing from Tawang: a) Monestry b)Madhuri lake c) China Border and d) War Memorial

Hotel Review of Tawang - Tourist Lodge
Comments: Rooms are dirty. No maintenance is there.
Direct employees come in office for 4 to 5 hours just to gossip. Officer comes in the evening for 3 hours.
Best Experience: Got good food from the Tourist Lodge canteen. Cook is a very good man and food quality is too good.
Worst Experience: Broken wash basin exhaust pipe. Bad smell in toilet. Dusty bedrooms. No system of intercom or callig a waiter.
