Fabulous stay but hard to reach

5.4/7
Posted 19 Feb, 2014

We went for a family weekend getaway and it was a fabulous stay - wish we could have stayed there longer. The room (modelled as a tent) was fabulous with zips for getting in and out - that was quite unique. It was better than the pictures. Excellent bunk beds to boot. Just wish there was some reheating facilities like an electric blanket or something. The veranda outside with couple of chairs and a table to sit and enjoy your tamale was cool too. Complimentary breakfast in the morning was delicious more so because their restaurant overlooks the beautiful valley. They have many recreational activities too. Staff were extremely courteous starting from the reception to the room boys to the kitchen. We just wished that the road (especially the last 5 kms or so) was better. That part of the trip just about killed the entire fun. The last stretch of the road was so bad that our cab-driver charged us 1000 bucks extra. Although we just loved the experience (yes even after that extra 1000 bucks payment) but we wouldn't stay at this hotel again unless the approach road is fixed.

Wonderful place to stay in Panchgani

5.4/7
Posted 20 Nov, 2014

I had been for a short holiday with my sweet family to terra camp. The decision to select terra was interestingly because of the tents concept between the mountains. The drive to terra from Panchami market is tiring and exhaustive because of the condition of the road but once you reach terra after the 10km hill drive it's relaxing. The food is very delicious. The tents were a bit messy initially but were made proper once requested to the staff. The hotel staff are accommodative however I seriously think with an addition of some more staff they can make their service brilliant rather than waiting for the guest to ask every time for basic things. Though the work is done once requested but what I am trying to point out here is at the approach. It should come from the staff side rather than the guest. However I would be definitely visiting this place again. Would expect terra with additional staff, proactive approach, the same delicious food and yeah A SOLAR HEATER. Special thanks to the service guy who got hot water every morning! Southie I suppose .

Nice Experience with the adventure activities

5.8/7
Posted 18 Feb, 2014

We selected the venue as we wanted a mixture of fun and adventure to celebrate our second marriage anniversary . Hotel is Good. Its situated in isolated locality. It had Serene surroundings. Adventure activities, right from cycling to trekking to rappelling (at least ten of them) The bicycles were not maintained - rusty. Safety precautions are well taken care of. Warm senior staff to ensure you have a hassle free stay. Strawberry farms nearby. They arranged a good candle light dinner for us under the starry night sky . Avoid this place if you don't have your own vehicle (Though I had requested the owners to start a pick and drop service to Panchgani bus stop). If you are travelling by state transport bus - frequency is less (one hour ride from Panchgani bus stop) . It had Clean tents. Tent gets really cold during winter. One of the tents had water leakage and we were housed in that one at check-in (Wonder if the staff knew about it prior). All said and done. We were promptly shifted to another one . Decent food but Very very poor service when it comes to food (that is overpriced and curtailed menu). We got our main course 45 min after the starters. At a time when only two tents were occupied. No restaurants nearby. Junior staff lack - one just barged into our tent without prior notice. There was no pool . . Bottomline:. Go here if you like fun with adventure. Look out for groupon offers. They are a steal. Pricey otherwise (stay+adventure activities+food -->12. 5k for two - 3d, 2n). Don't miss the adventure activities - worth it for beginners. Wait for few months for improvement in amenities, full service restaurant (we were told it will start soon) and road connectivity. Avoid if you want to visit the town regularly and if you intend to do more sight seeing

Awesome experience; comfortable rooms

7.0/7
Posted 1 Dec, 2014

This place is a very good option if you want to have an adventurous weekend getaway from the city life. The tents were spacious and comfortable. A double bed with couple of dressing tables and an additional bunk bed thrown in. The attached toilet section has separate dressing area, a toilet area and also a separate Bath area The road from Panchgani to the Camp offers some nice views and also adds to the whole driving away from civilization feel. The hotel staff are very nice and go that extra bit to provide you with all that you need. Breakfast buffet was nice.

Food was tasty but it was costly

5.4/7
Posted 26 Sep, 2014

Food was tasty but it was costly. It was an adventurous camp. It was not a resort. Services were up to the mark. Everything was fine but pick up and drop facility was not good there. I will recommend this hotel to other travellers. There should be improvement in pick up and drop facility. Room service was good. Hotel was very nice. Hotel was situated near about 8-9 km far from the bus stand. The path to reach the hotel was not good.

Slow service but good food, no amenities

4.6/7
Posted 24 Sep, 2014

Visited Terra Camp couple of months ago and the overall experience was pretty fine with some pros and cons stated below. Locality of the place was the major advantage and few km ahead of Panchgani in the middle of valley, so double thumbs up for the location if one was looking for a fine drive with beautiful scenery. Good food, alcohol available even though the place is in middle of nowhere but recommends taking your own, decent view and chill out sitting area out aide each tent. Tents were old and not maintained well, especially at the price charged one expects clean hygiene tents and service was slow, no amenities that a resort and should offer.

Amazing view with well maintained bathroom

5.3/7
Posted 19 Feb, 2014

I got an amazing deal with Group on for Terra camp, usually a lot of people don't give you great service if you have some particular deals, but that was not the case here, amazing view, tents are really nice and the bathroom well maintained, but could be better, should have a heater in the room for colder months, options of varied adventure activities, played a lot of table tennis. There was always help when needed only thing was its a little further in the village which could be a problem and the food could get better and more options if you are a foodie also it would be difficult to travel for food since that's the only place with a hotel for at least 15 km around. They gave us hot complimentary Gulab jamun since my want satisfied with the pullav, Potraid was quiet a positive attitude. Great job.

Good hotel with co-operative staff and tasty food

5.6/7
Posted 6 Aug, 2014

The resort is awesome. Comfortable tent. Co-operative staff and nice food. They have a small garden with beautiful flowers and I think they have two pet dogs as well as few birds. Only problem I faced was that its too much in the interiors and any first timer might just get confused. I will give them a suggestion to put some banners on the way with some road directions. We will surely plan a next trip soon.

Staff was good; food was yummy

4.8/7
Posted 30 May, 2014

I went on my anniversary there. I reached in the morning there after my centralized drop off the bus 6:30 at Panchgani, I was shocked to find out that a cab to the hotel would charge you a minimum of Rs. 1200 for a 15 min drive to the hotel. The information provided by the booking taker was not up to the mark, I was been told that the hotel is at 15 min way from Punchgani. I opted for a ST bus to reach there which was minimal Rs. 30 . . In-spite of being on the top of the head of the guy who took the booking did make sure if the room was available so early in the morning. As a result of which after a long night travel I had to wait till 10 am until the room checked out. But John and Debashish who are the managers, there arranged one of their tents for us to fresh-up which was adorable. Other than this my experience was good at the place. The place has the best location and view if you want to be away form the city kiosk. Overall the staff was also good. The amenities in the tent need a big makeover tough. The best was the chef made a local dish just for us KOMDI WADA a must try.

The lodging is good but food is not tasty

6.9/7
Posted 23 Dec, 2014

The hotel was conveniently location I did not find any difficulty to find it. The service of the staff was nice and friendly, helpful and hygienic. The staff were quick attentive and they serve in time. The surrounding of the hotel also was very good. The room was good, spacious and hygienic. All the amenities were working well and the interior was well maintained. There was a scenic view from the room. The food was not good in taste and doesn't suit to me. I did not experience any sightseeing facilities by them.

well- furnished rooms and good stay

6.0/7
Posted 18 Apr, 2015

I planned my honeymoon in Panchgani & Terra Camp was a small part of it. I went to Panchgani & stayed in a hotel for few days & then moved to Terra camp. I wanted my honeymoon not to be just boring site-seeing, hence I chose it. Terra camp is bit outside of Panchgani. I took an early morning cab from Ganeshpeth to Terra Camp. About 5-10 min road drive is bit bumpy (as the road construction is in progress). In actual the road were not that bad, provided you have seen the roads around Pune/Mumbai suburbs. The scenic view from the hill & the local villages on the way, were actually quite refreshing. It's about 14 km journey around 40-45 minutes & I adored it thoroughly watching cows, strawberry farms, temples, small village homes etc . . I reached Terra camp & was pleasantly surprised by the location well design & walloped. The camps are refurnished & have everything that is offer in a rich hotel room (except tlevision). When inquired about television I was informed that the concept of the camp is to spend time with your friends, loved-ones & not to waste time on television (which we can do anytime in our routine life). I did couple of adventure activities, trekking, archery etc. & Enjoyed every bit of it. The staff is mannered & very friendly. The food service is something which deserves a special mention. Every support staff member were on their toes to help & care for us - we were overwhelmed. I will surely plan to go back again to Terra Camp!

Mesmerising view of nature with magical sunrise

6.6/7
Posted 16 Mar, 2014

One of a kind of experience in between the mountains with beautiful scenic and mesmerizing view of nature with magical sunrise and sunset which makes it romantic. Rooms quality was best with very good use of some antics and adventure furniture. Very friendly and helping staff in all ways and best part was evening games and jammin sessions with out guests in the property. Best place to go to beat the rush and stress from our busy city life.
