Ranked 14 of 73 hotels in Mukteshwar
Went to Mukteshwar to get away from summer, but weather was hot during the day. Also expected to see himalayan ranges, but was disappointed as ranges were all hidden in smog. As per local it remains so in summer. They are visible in Winters only. Mukteshar is small place with not much choice, but not crowded as compared to otheres. Stay at Hotel British retreat was Ok , Food was Good, Rooms were fine. View from hotel to valley was obstructed by long trees in front of the hotel. No pool, or outdoor activity when we were there. Those who travel by own car should always keeps there fuel tank full and also carry extra CAN if possible.
Wonderful location with very good ambience where as the staff services was good, supportive as well as neat, clean, very spacious rooms along the functioning amenities but there was valley, mountain view as well as hygenic laundary service. The food was very good but there was no activities whereas travel desk is available and there was no delays check in and check out.

We visited there on 1 jan and there we met the owner of the hotel.we have never such good people in my life. They were so polite. We enjoyed a lot only because of them. The food was too good. The rooms were ok. The service was ok. But i would love to go there again as i liked this property. The place was calm away from any type of disturbance. I would definitely suggest the place and this property whome ever want the peace and calm to stay.
It was a brilliant experience :) we loved every minute of it. the stop over at mukteshwar was unplanned and when we found this hotel we loved it and decided to stay
Stayed in this beautifully constructed property in Aug'12. Nice combination of Wood and glass, huge windows which merge the outdoors with the indoors, wooden floor gives you a nice cozy feel. Was fortunate to meet the owners, nice friendly people. they are also planning to put up a small library which will be a total bliss for the book lovers as this is an ideal place to steal yourself from the cacophony of busy city life and indulge in good read.
