The fort is just beside the river Ganges and so close that if you stand at room balcony, you will feel like standing on the river itself. Also the food is excellent as like the behaviour of the staff, so friendly. The hotel itself is a place to explore. It was originally a fort once upon a time which later converted to hotel.

It was a weekend and we were looking for just a day out when we came across the day out package offered by Ffort-Raichak. It was a family picnic and we were 9 people. We booked the package a week before our journey. On that particular day after a hectic journey of 2 hours we finally reached the Ffort-Raichak and it was amazing at a glance.

We were cordially welcomed by the manager at the desk along with a cosy welcome drink. After sometime we were served snacks comprising assorted pakoras (veg). It was okay if not that great but the ambiance was really great.

Then we start exploring the entire location till we got the call for lunch and it was really awesome, I must say. Loads of items starting from Lamb salads to pineapple pie, especially the desserts were yummy.

Towards the evening at around 5 pm (can't remember the exact time) we went for a cruise ride on the Ganges. Though there was not a single life boat in the cruise which I didn't quite appreciate. After an hour long journey we came back to the Ffort and finally started for home at around 7 pm after a round of tea and cookies. It was a perfect family trip and I would like to visit the place again.

The Ffort is a riverside resort on the bank of river Hooghly. It is located about 1 kms away from Raichak Ferry Ghat. We stayed in the presidential suite. The private terrace gave a good view of the garden and the river. Rooms were spacious and well maintained. Food was good.

Pros: Nice planned room (we stayed in garden view room of 1st floor) Room has hot kettle and tea bags etc. Garden in well-curated with small water body overlooking the ganges. Breakfast buffet is well-planned and versatile. Poolside costumes are available on rent (110 for one time). Pool is open from 7AM to 8PM.

Cons: Check/in and check/out is 5PM and 4PM. Pool is rather small and unshaded. Activities are not maintained and unavailable. Buffets for lunch/dinner are not certain (available only when authorities pleases). The authorities dont let you enter the whole area (eg the ganga kutir remains unaccessible even if though it is part of the same property - but we saw ganga kutor guests seated by our pool -- totally unfair) If you visit under their summer offers you get treated like some outsider without any given facilities.

Stayed here on my visit to Kolkata and enjoyed it. The resort is located on the banks of river Hooghly and is a 20 minutes drive from the Diamond Harbour. We stayed in the suite rooms with a view of River Hooghly. The swimming pool was good in size with changing rooms nearby. Buffet breakfast had good options.

If you are tired of your city-life and are looking for a relaxing time then The Ffort is your answer. Our weekend visit to the forest helped us overcome our tiredness. The fresh breeze from the Ganges beside the hotel felt very good. It is basically a luxury hotel with very comfortable rooms and an excellent restaurant.

There is opportunity for many activities like indoor and outdoor game areas, swimming pool and boating facilities. The Fort has also a beautifully designed landscaped garden spreading over a large area. Women can indulge in luxurious spa session in the uniquely designed spa area of the hotel. Overall, the experience was very nice for us as a couple. You can also lookout for discounts that hotel keeps constantly advertising.

The overall experience was fantastic. The hotel connectivity was not good as it was away from the city bus stand. The appearance of the hotel looks like a palace. The interiors were fantastic. The ambiance of the hotel was very attractive it looks like a palace. The staffs were very friendly and helpful they were quick in responding to my request. There was no delay in check in and check out. The rooms were spacious, neat and clean the amenities like television, air conditioner and hot water was functioning very well. There were river Ganges were visible from the room. The food was very good the quality was too good. The hotel offered buffet and service for serving food. The hotel has not much indoor activities, but they have a spa, gym pool. The overall location and destination was good. It was great value for money and would like to recommend this hotel. The hotel provided complimentary toiletry. Suggestion: The hotel should have tied up with some corporate website.
