The Ffort Reviews
The hotel was good . But the food wasn't good. There were rotten smell in chickhen . They charge heavily for the but food doesn't worth it . Room service is good .. Lack of staff . Specially in indoor games section .
The hotel is made from ruins of fort .. It is huge .. The rooms are good, perhaps some part was not properly clean, though after pointing they promptly cleaned it. Service was mind blowing .. In few words worth the money spent.
Nice Place For A Weekend Getaway, little expensive but facilities are good, food is awesome and Mobile network is great for a change. We stayed for one night. The check-in/check-out timing is 6 pm and 4 pm respectively, which is convenient if you are travelling by car from Kolkata like we did. The Ffort resembles an actual fort. Personal Reco....Read More
Great hotel, but the location was a little off, had mostly gone on work so that much time in the hotel but whatever time spent was great and the view from the balconies are great too, really beautiful and a must visit for anyone there, food service a tad too long though.
Visited the property after 10 years - nothing much has changed - great location - good for a day or max 2 - a little pricey compared to the services that they render. Right on the bank of Highly - enjoy a day out with your family and near and dear ones.
Standards have fallen since their earlier franchise arrangements with RADISSON was discontinued. Untrained and inadequate staff, unable to handle service needs of residents, especially in the restaurants where a la carte orders take ages to come and sometimes the full order is also not delivered. Buffet arrangements, for breakfast, was well organis....Read More
Although all the modern facilities, like a. C ., a small refrigerator, a locker, a spacious wardrobe, 24 hour hot and cold water, a tea/coffee maker, are available in the room and a Bath tub in the attached bathroom; yet the room size is not worthy for the room rent. And also they mentioned it as twin-room, but simply it is a double bedded room. Th....Read More
I went for 1 night only. The reception was awesome. They allowed 1 hr early check in without even requesting and upgraded to superior room because of vacancy as it was a weekday and too without request and any extra cost. Food & scenic beauty amazing
Phenomenology place. Iv stated in many resorts and this is surely one of d best. Value 4 money is d USP Just one negative thing that d lift had a very bad smell and unbearable Other than this food & activities were excellent.
Desperately need renovation in Fort suites room and toilet. Breakfast quality is average. Its ironical that the locker is not meant for keeping valuable things at pool. Most of the amenities are chargeable. Must have some paid car mechanic facility. Hospitality is average.

I have been here before and this place is really excellent for a quick getaway from Kolkata. The location is conveniently close to Kolkata yet once you get there, the city seems far away. The rooms, the grounds, the service - are all very comfortable indeed barring the food which, somehow, does not measure up to the rest. A major issue, however, is the revised check-in and check-out timings. You are expected to check in at 6 pm in the evening and check out at 4 pm in the afternoon! Firstly, this implies that they need at least 2 hours to prepare the room for the next guest and that's 1 hour more than some of the best hotels in town. Secondly, this meant that I wouldn't be able to get in a full days work on the check-in date and the check-out date if I was to check out at 4 pm. Much as I like the place it is, therefore, no longer a quick getaway unless it's a weekend.
Purpose of the visit was mainly for leisure activities and wanted to spend quality time with Family. Raichak on Ganges (Ganga Kutir, The fFort and fFort Suites) really provided a memorable experience. Hotel is nicely situated in exactly on Bank of Ganges (Hoogly River) it offer three types of accommodations, The fFort is for small family, fFort Suites for little larger family and Plush kind of experience in Ganga Kutir. We stayed in fFort for three days and two nights. All the amenities are actually available mostly in the ffort. So if you are planning for Suites or Ganga Kutir be prepared to walk at least few KMs to avail all the amenities. We were not able to utilize all the amenities because of time, rain and humid weather. But still we were able to play football, Table Tennis, Carom, Cycling and a real big Chess. Other than this there were Tennis, Basketball, Pool, Swimming pool, video games and Darts are also available. Other than that we have done paddle boating and visited the temple inside it. You can also take Ganges river cruise in evening if around 15 people are available to go for cruise. Cost is around Rs 550 per person for river cruise. It also got Footloose (Bar + Disco), Anaya (Spa) and good two swimming pools. Food is a plus point here. You can go for exquisite Bengali lunch or dinner in Sonar Tori. Other than that you can taste food in Reflection (Indian and Continental) or in the Orient (Oriental). fFort Suite also having a restaurant though we have not tried it. Sonar tori are with Gang Kutir rest was with The fFort. People are helpful there. We faced only three issues in entire trip. Wireless was not working and they are not able to provide in entire trip (due to some network issue). World cup final we had a horrible experience and not able to watch for 35 min. In that experience we faced the worst experience as Manager was not came to help us in proper time. But later when he arrived he is able to get a solution and thankfully we were able to watch the final Match. 3rd Issue I feel as it is more than 17 years old property it needs a bit of renovation. Few areas look really old. But thankfully today I saw renovation has been started. That is actually good news and hoping to have much better looking property in next visit. Room suggestion from my side is the fFort and 5th floor river facing room, it really ravishing to watch The Ganges in different time of the day. Also rooms are really quiet and all amenities are easily reachable. Best time of visit should be from October to February. There is no nearby sightseeing area so enjoy the hotel to full extent and have nice quality family time.
The location of Ffort Raichak is beautiful and the entire property is quite impressive with the Ganges flowing just outside the boundary. But, I am sorry say I had higher expectations from such a premier hotel which they didn't live up to. The property is not very maintained and most activities like sports and paddle boats are not available. I was surprised to see such an expensive hotel not providing free wi-fi to guests! They said we could use the LAN cable in the room in laptops, but the LAN connection didn't work either and even after complaining about it, no technician was sent to look into the matter. We were three girls staying in one room and they were supposed to provide us with extra bed. But since the existing bed was king size, we could easily sleep on it, so we didn't remind them or call for the extra bed. But I expected the hotel service to be efficient enough to remember that three guests in one room means one extra bed is to be added, but in our entire stay of 3 days 2 nights, nobody gave us that extra bed, neither even asked whether we need it (apart from the initial time while checking in). The rooms had ants and other insects (from the garden, I guess) which was also not agreeable. The manager was Nice enough though to take us around the entire property one morning and that was the only highlight of the trip.
This was my second visit to the resort and staying here is always amazing. With all the luxurious facilities in the resort. The location adds up the stairs to the royalty of the resort, the food is nice and last but not the least the hospitality is remarkable. I will give it a 5 star and would recommend it for all kind of occasions.
There are a lot of possible activities we only tried a few. Unfortunately we were looking forward to the cruise but it was not available on the day we were there, we did play chess on the large chessboard ( about 2 foot chessmen). I went cycling by the side of the Ganges. We played carom and TT while it was raining. There is also snooker and billiards. Boating is available but the sun was initially too hot and later it started to rain, hence we did no go out on the paddle boats. Same was the case for the mini golf. Food was excellent. We loved the Orient especially the pan fried shrimp, the pork I had was also quite good and soft. The continental cuisine was also very nice and the Indian was of course good. On the whole an enjoyable stay.
