This is truly a "Hidden Valley". A Hidden Treasure. This place is surrounded by 40 acres of coffee estate and other plantations. It is surrounded by greenery on all sides. It has a natural swimming pool (Natural Lake) right in front of the house. You can also take a self-driven free boat ride in this lake. This homestay is very well designed and well maintained. Rooms are clean and spacious. Its washroom has motion sensor driven lights. Lights automatically switch on and off as you enter and leave the washroom. Hidden Valley is intelligently and neatly built. It is not highly sophisticated as well as not below par as well. Whatever is required for pleasant and peaceful stay experience, this place has all that to offer. Amazing place to unwind and relax from the hustle and bustle of the city. We were a group of 12 people with 5 families and 2 bachelors. Hidden Valley has 6 rooms with 4 rooms having King size bed and has a mezzanine floor having 3 beds (as shown in their website). Also some rooms have bunker type beds (for kids), A single family of 3 - 5 people can stay in one single room or a group like ours (12 - 15 people) can stay in entire house. In our case entire house was for us to stay as all 6 rooms was taken by us. Hence we enjoyed a lot. A note of appreciation has to be mentioned for the staff out here. They are polite and accommodative for your requirement. Not at all fussy, very good staff doing really a good job. They had arranged for a camp fire on both days and a barbeque for a night. Also a special note has to be mentioned for the Food served. Very delicious and good food. They served us with all kinds of meat on both days of our stay. First day it was Chicken, Pork and Fish, second day it was Chicken and Mutton along with barbeque chicken at night. Also the breakfast was great with Idly, Vada, Upma, Rice Roti (Akki Roti) Bread omelette. All in all, Great food. This place is close to Bhadra National park, however locals say animals are rarely sighted during safari and hence not worth the visit. Mullianagiri peak is also around 25 - 30 kms from this place. Also few waterfalls are close by. However, you need to come here with your own vehicle as it is a bit inside from main road, also the local sightseeing would be convenient. Overall this is a very excellent place to stay at decent price (2000 Rs to 2500 Rs / person / day which includes stay and food). This place is worth the money. Placed in midst of the mother nature away from hustle and bustle of city with fresh air and water, come to this place to get rejuvenated, relaxed, unwind, stress free experience and have a blissful and great experience. Note: • Lot of blood sucking Leeches, hence carry a shampoo or salt while going out, even within the estate. • Also carry many board games or pack of cards for entertainment.
A wonderful coffee estate with cottages, which makes it ideal for a quiet weekend getaway. The rooms in the cottages are large and well ventilated, and open out into a large hall with easy chairs and a wide view of the valley. The food is excellent right from breakfast and all the way through to dinner. The staff are eager to serve up homely malnad fare. The estate too is a wonder to explore, with its verdant coffee bushes and abundance of parrots. They also organise estate walks to take you through coffee and pepper cultivation and make the experience educative with samples of ripened coffee fruits, fiery bird's eye chilies and mild green pepper pods. The estate also has clear walking paths drawn out with helpful boards at each crossing, and so it leaves you free to explore the entire estate in the company of Blackie, the friendly estate mutt. There's a bonfire every night and a barbecue on Saturdays, with smoky chicken in a mildly spicy marinade and grilled paneer.
The Hidden Valley like the name says it is a hidden treasure. It's a small place admits greenery and hills. It was one of the most amazing weekend getaways from Bangalore. The place is located near a hill trek spot, water fall, heritage sites. The food and service were really nice. Courteous staff with spacious and clean rooms. Open area to party/play. Lake to boat in and this place has everything. And its amazingly CHEAP!!! It's worth having a mini vacation.
This was the best weekend getaway we have had in Chikmagalur. The area surrounded with beautiful greenery and the silence away from city was heavenly. Service was awesome and food was excellent. Couldn't have asked for more. And the staff was as humble as you can get. Would really love to visit the place again. Just waiting for the renovation to get completed.:-) Though this time we couldn't have much activities done due to having other plans of our own, but would definitely like to do some more activities next time.
My stay was good in this hotel. I visited there with my family and it was a relaxing trip. Hotel was located in the city but not on the main road. Staff behavior was okay. South Indian food was good. Rooms were not up to the mark. It liked Homestay. Nothing was available in activities. Natural scenery was very good there. Only campfire was there. Hotel was value for money paid. For budget travelers, hotel is recommendable.
A very much convenient place for the tourists if your are travelling from Mangalore/Udupi location. A typical resort kind located between the plantations and you can also enjoy boating. You can rock on the night party. Staff are really helpful and adjustable. Food was delicious with barbecue and good drinks and music. We played camp fire as it was arranged by the hotel. They had also provided the guide during the tour.
The resort is located 20 kms away from the city which makes it a perfect place to relax and enjoy with family members. It is very good and in particular the service was awesome. People were very helpful and always ready to offer service. We did enjoyed spending lot of time in property rather than visiting places. Though, we did go to one place and also visited their property which is very big and it has a small pond with ducks.
Tariff for the room was around Rs. 3000. It was not conveniently located and it was not also very good. Food was not good there. It was not so hygienic. I visited there in August 2012 with my family. Overall, my tour was very relaxed. Service staff behaviour was good but they were not professional. The way they served the food was not good. I will not recommend this hotel to my friends. Complimentary breakfast or dinner was provided by them. Parking facility was good. No activity was there. There was a small lake where we enjoyed.
I did not face any kind of difficulties to find the hotel and it is conveniently located. The behaviour of the staff was polite and friendly. Their service was helpful. The hotel provides neat and clean well-maintained rooms with good functioning amenities and there was no view from the room. There was restaurant in veg and non-veg. There were no activities or sightseeing trips organized by the hotel. There was no delay while check-in and check-out. The hotel was valuable for the stay and recommendable to others since it is a best hotel I had travel.
We 5 friends decided to enjoy the monsoon in the hills. Hidden valley served the purpose very well. Staff was nice, food quality was OK and location was the best to enjoy the serene place. Place had a pond of its own with boating facility. Good place to stay and value for money. Budget friendly too :)

This homestay lived up to its name. I stopped at Chikmagalur and zeroed in on the place thanks to Tripadvisor. A very comfortable and value for the price stay greeted me. I reach Chikmagalur at night, and took a bit to locate this property which is 20 km beyond Chikmagalur. The staff, from Dilip, Joseph and Jacob were at hand with their warm hospitality. The dinner was sumptuous and a welcome greeting after a long drive. The room was clean, toilets even better with continuous water supply. I'd recommend an early rise in the mornings and a walk through the coffee plantation, embellished with cups of in-house coffee in hand. The estate looks serene in the mornings, amidst coffee and pepper. The estate has a wide collection of spiders (natural tenets of the place, it must be added). A treat for spider lovers. For admirers of more domesticated animals, the rabbits and dogs make good company. The owner, his wife and the manager, are helpful and make good conversation. The property is about 50 km from Mullayanagiri and Baba Budan Giri peaks, the drive takes time as it winds up through hills and more coffee estates. Those looking to visit these as a priority (highly recommended), this property may seem some distance away. For those looking to unwind over a couple of days, this place fits the bill. Moreover, at the price this is an awesome bang for the buck. The only minor irritant was a family that seemed to loath the quiet, and chose to beat the solitude with loud television fireworks. Nothing that ear plugs can't fix though. Full marks to the property.
Hidden Valley is a great place to get relaxed and spend time with family and friends. Rooms are good, very neat and clean. Hundred Percent Marks for Service. Cannot get any better than this. Awesome Food. Stayed for 2 nights and 3 days.. and each and every meal we had was relishing. Chicken Curry, Fish Fry, Mutton curry, Chicken biriyaani, you name it..and the cook will prepare it with a taste you wont forget. Activities - A lovely pond where u can spend your time boating or swimming. It is almost like your private swimming pool.no one to stop you, just relax and chill and enjoy the beauty. They have a badminton court, carrom board, dartboard, and air gun for shooting. They have a pretty huge estate plantation around which we could not tour. We got in one evening but we were attacked by leeches and we ran out of there. It is not advisable to go into forest areas during the rainy season because of the leeches. They have few pets like pigeons, rabbits, duck inside the pond and the awesome BLACKIE..their pet dog. Blackie is a very friendly and obedient dog, u will be friends with him in minutes and if u start playing with him..he wont let you stop. The last 1 km stretch to reach the homestay is bad. It is a stretch laid out of big sized pebbles and our indica tyre got punctured both the times when we entered the homestay. The place is around 20 kms from chikmagalur. So if you are planning to go for trekking or waterfalls u have to travel 50 - 70 kms to reach there. If you are planning for waterfalls, dont miss out hebbe falls. It is really adventurous. The last 10 kms to HEBBE falls is a mountainous ride. Regular cars cannot drive through. You can drive through with safari/scorpio type vehicles..but at your own risk - you may end up damaging your vehicle very bad. You have jeeps plying to and fro which would take you for around 600 - 800 Rs - but the drive is really scary but worth it. And the falls itself is so beautiful...u can get down..drench in the fall..swim in the waters nearby and have lots of fun. Drive to mulyangiri peak is also amazing ..very narrow steep climbing road and the view from the peak is awesome.
I had been to Chikmagalur post monsoon this year with my family and cousins. Chikmangalur is a beautiful place. Quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed it more because of Hidden Valley Resort. It is such a wonderful place to be at. If anyone wants to have true experience of staying in the arms of nature come and stay at Hidden valley. The lake, the ambience, everything is so eye catching. Hospitality is very good, food is excellent. The cottages are pretty nice. I would surely like to visit this place again.
This is one of the best place I ever visited. Superb location. You will get peace of mind. Its very calm & cool place to visit.
This homestay lives up to its name as its very near the main road but well concealed in the valley of the hills in Chikmagalur. The rooms are nice and comfortable . The rabbits hub offer an interesting time pass for the child guests. There are arrangements of some indoor games and outdoor games as well. Target shooting can give a guest a rush of adrenalin. The food is awesome, as prepared by the cooks over there. They take the extra step to ensure a good memorable meal. They even offer a barbecue in the evenings.
