Located at Mudbhatkal, Kethapayya Narayan
Temple represents the
Vijayanagara style of architecture resplendent with intricately carved
sculptures.
There is a four pillared Navaranga (a hypostyle
hall) and idols of Ashta Dikpalakas stand guard in the eight directions. The
temple walls are finely carved with figures depicting scenes from The Ramayana,
Putra Kamesti, Vanavas, Rama pattabhisheka and more. A huge monolithic dhwajastambha (flag pillar)
stands at the entrance. Facing the deity is a carving of a couple, presumably,
that of the rich patron of the temple, Kheta Pai and his wife.
