Best Holiday ever in India

6.9/7
Posted 9 Jan

We visited Nainital for Christmas in 2016 and if became the most memorable Christmas ever! Primarily, because of the excellent stay provided by The Pavilion hotel. It's a heritage property with every possible modern amenity required by the guests. The rooms were cosy yet spacious enough. The is minimalist with traces of heritage that it represents. The staff was helpful and very helpful. I was surprised to find the hotel food to be of fantastic quality so much so that we did not venture out elsewhere for dinner or breakfast. They have their own in-house bakery called Bakers Hut that's has one of the nicest brownies and English Breakfasts you can ever have in Nainital. Its proximity to Naini Lake is an added bonus. If you are looking for a spacious property with a great view then I think The Pavilion serves the purpose to the T. We can't wait to go back in the summer.

Decent Hotel with good staff but old & poor rooms

4.4/7
Posted 2 Nov, 2015

We planned to visit Nainital on October 2015 and were searching for decent hotel as we were a couple travelling to Nainital for first time. As it was dussera weekend there was rush of tourists and hotels were filling fast. We booked Pavilion viewing the pictures and feedback on internet. In reality the hotel is not as vast or so neat as it seems in pictures. Pavilion hotel is located around 1 Km away from mall road, so location is almost walk-able but some will find far considering while coming back its uphill. Staff is decent, and outside look is also fair. Rooms are bad, small and the furniture was downright cheap. If you are looking for luxurious cosy room then this might not suit you. The linen & bedsheets seemed unchanged and dirty. The outside noise seeps in the room easily. However the basic things like intercom & hot water is OK. I find it overpriced compared to what the hotel offers, it is in no way premium and most suited as a decent budget hotel.

It was a good stay but the room service did lack a bit of care.

I visited Nainital for a holiday with my family, the place was great. I liked the lake there we had a walk in the evening on the road situated on the lake it was a wonderful experience. The location of the hotel was beautiful, there was a high court in front of the resort and the Nainital Lake was just 1km walkable distance from the resort. The hotel had a heritage and vintage look and the rooms were really beautiful and well maintained. The front office staff were OK but need to be more kind and helpful towards their guest. We went during the peak time of demonetization and approached at the front desk for help to exchange cash. One of the staff were ready to help us but he was interrupted by another staff and they refused to help. They should have only staff available at the front office as it was quite messy with two of them around. The overall service was very good, the rooms were very spacious. They provide room service, there is a restaurant there and the waiters were very courteous. I did the booking online from the hotel's website. I booked a room which was divided into two. The hotel couldn't provide two heaters and it was really cold during November. So the room was a bit low there because it was really cold there. We just had the complimentary food and dinner there and it was tasty. They had only WiFi service there.

Good hotel with excellent staff

6.6/7

I stayed in November 2014, travelled with family. Rooms are clean and tidy. The room that we got was clean, the bed sheets and the blankets were all fresh smelling and allowed a good nights sleep. TV's are available in rooms with cable connection. Room service was nice. Biggest asset of this hotel is its staff. They are well trained and groomed. They take care of small personal requirements without any fuss. Breakfast was standard and tasty. We took dinner also, which was tasty and decently served. It is on-time and very pocket friendly as well. They do serve non-vegetarian, and will require additional serving time. You can also have meals in the garden... Sunny breakfast is ideal. Also the hotel has a small cafe called Baker's hut which too is exceptionally good. It use to be open from 12 noon till 10 pm. And they had amazing pastries and sandwiches. Overall had a very pleasant stay at the place and am surely coming back on our future trips. Room Tip: Families should opt for family suites.
