Good hotel with good view of the lake.

Posted 5 Jan, 2016

I recently visited hotel Sajjan Villa with one of my friend. Its a nice hotel within your budget with nice clean rooms and bathroom. One of the good thing is the wifi inside the hotel. The hotel has an art gallery on the ground floor and the paintings are hanged along the stairways. On the first floor there were few tables and chairs and we came to know that soon a small cafe for coffee and mocktails would open. (Its seems they are planning to open it soon and i would love to see that if i visit again) The rooms are spacious enough as 2 to 3 persons would need. It has front view facing the lake and it looks wonderful as the sun begins to set. Also there is roof top where you can enjoy the overall beauty of the city and u can see lake palace in between the lake and Jagmandir as well !! The only thing missing is a lift cause if you're on the thirs floor or high then you would need to usenone and only means STAIRS ! Overall its was good...we went for sightseeing and for city palace and aroind the city.. you can ask for a taxi as well with the hotel reception if you are looking for complete tour of city and its nearby places.

A Reasonably Good Budget Hotel

Posted 12 Nov, 2013

Location wise the hotel is situated very near to some of the major landmarks of Udaipur such as the City Place, Jagadisha Temple and Clock Tower and also adjacent Gantur Ghat. However, the absence of an in house restaurant is a major deterrent and inconvenience to the dwellers. [The Claim of the hotel in its web site that it has a roof top restaurant is misleading and the management put forward an excuse that as the Navrathi festival was going on the staffs had gone to their native places and hence the restaurant was closed temporarily ]. The rooms overlooking the road (including Room No. 302 where I stayed with my family) are spacious and quite airy and well lit. However the said hotel is to be avoided by elderly persons and persons with knee or arthritis problems as the rooms are accessible only by climbing steep set of stairs. The Sole bell boy and attendant "Kallu" is a typical man-friday who is there to assist you and take care of your needs. The Lonely Planet recommended "Cafe Namaste, French Bakery" which is situated just opposite the hotel is an added bonus. The front desk however is quite efficient and helpful and sightseeing tours and excursions to nearby places can be promptly arranged. Tourist Taxis for journey to Jodhpur, Jaipur etc are also arranged.

Excellent place to stay

Posted 22 Dec, 2014

The hotel I stayed was excellent. I had stayed there for five days. Hotel is in Udaipur. I travelled with my family. Staff behaviour was good. They were very cooperative and helpful. Rooms were neat, clean and spacious. AC, LED, geyser and other basic amenities were available. Kid's activities like computer games were available. In terms of food, best given as it was part of a package. The services and other facilities were excellent.

Nice hotel but no parking facility

Posted 19 Aug, 2014

The Location of Sajjan villa was my favorite thing situated at Gangaur ghat. Major spots like bagore ki haveli, gangaur ghat , jagdish temple, city palace are at walking distance. Price was worth the services. We had booked two rooms for 20 June off season though no lunch and dinner serving at that time but manager said would serve only in in season months. So we took dinner at near by building at rooftop restaurant, there are many rooftop restaurant nearby dinner was good there. Drinking water and tea was really good quality. Toilet was very neat and clean, room was also seems to be recently furnished and clean. Hot water was available. It had a gallery though very small, but really nice view in night it was really good. Parking space was only road, if you comes with some big vehicle you have park it on road. Hotel is small so if you are on do not disturb kind of tour then its the best option. Special advice do book online in advance and book only if your count is less than six people.
