The best experiences you can get at Sterling Resort. I have been to many sterlings before at different places. Sterling at Darjeeling is worst mantained of all. Still, compared to any hotel, the sterling experience is always amazing.

Best Experience: We have small kitchens there, I loved the hot n crispy french fries my wife fried. We bought fresh vegetables - very fresh and instantly cooked it. it was so great. the grocery store of sterling sells most of the things at a reasonable amount.

Worst Experience: Mantainance of rooms were not the sterling standard. Sight seeing services were good, but I was duped at the last minute, when I booked a sumo a day in advance.

Excellent Resort, very spacious. However, due to huge facility not very well maintained.

Best Experience: Privacy and the view from the top of the resort is breat taking

Worst Experience: The Resort is running down due to lack of proper maintanence. Food is not a PLUS point.

the overall experience was okay... the only thing in the resort that was unsatisfactory was the interiors of the cottages...it was not maintained well... rest the service was good....though the food quality was not upto the mark!

Best Experience: the height of the resort...its located at the highest point of ghoom...n so the weather there was also good n v cud see fog every morning n evening...n the view of mountains from the view-point inside the resort was also amazing!

Worst Experience: sterling darjeeling, being an rci affiliated resort,v had great expectations from it... but the moment v entered our cottage that v had booked,v saw tht it was not even properly maintained...n the food...ohh thank god v had a kitchen...otherwise v wud have starved...the food quality was pathetic!

"Though the approach to the..."

Though the approach to the Sterling Resorts-Darjeeling ( which, incidentally, is situated at Ghoom, about 8kms from Darjeeling town) was a bit disconcerting-you have to take a very narrow and steep road avoiding oncoming traffic- on reaching the resorts you are completely overwhelmed by the courtesy of the staff and the ease with which you are ensconced in the room. In our case it was a very large double room with an attached large sitting room. We would have liked it if the room was pre-heated for our arrival. After all it was about 2 degrees above freezing and we were about the fourth family in the entire hotel. The view from the grounds of the lofty Kanchanjungha and the speed of arranging transport for sightseeing was remarkable. But unfortunately our departure was not very good as there was a lot of unpleasantness between the drivers of the hired cars and the staff. Apparently, guests here can\'t chose the car by which they want to travel-they have to abide by whose turn it is. However, the staff arranged for everything including, additional blankets and pillows, packed breakfast and all. I would recommend this resort because of its proximity to the Queen of the Hills but its remoteness that prevents worries regarding transport and water supply.

Best Experience: When the room-heater and the electric stove was found to be not working properly, they were replaced within a few minutes of a phone call

Worst Experience: The transport to airport is dictated by vehicle owners. We were not able to choose the car we wanted-a brand new Santro-because an old Maruti omni was in the line which we were determined not to ride. We had to take a Tata Sumo at a higher rate.
