The expectations were good but it turned out to be below expectations . We went by available overall ratings for budget hotel option and selected the hotel. The journey to hotel from railway station is 5 KM drive and gave us a good view of important lamd marks of Bhubaneswar city . So the distance was woth it. The attending staff though not smart were not indifferent to our queries and guided for our temple visit. The city is yet to be polluted by industrial boom thus retaining some control on living cost which makes lifestyle some what moderate and manageable . This helped us as tourists adn elderly couple.

Best Experience: The visit to Lingaraj Temple was very satisfying where we could see a stunning monument with a vivid and rare example of the historic glory . The maintainance of temple and its traditions looked refreshingly different from temople from south India and our home state Andhra Pradesh. The monetory offerings infront of various dietees in the sprawling temple complex is a unique example of strong faith or beliief or wahtever one can call it. The main roads are wide and well maintained with smooth flow of traffic. We bought silver caarvings as gift to our only daughter whi works at Pune. The shopping experience was very good with the shop people being very receptive in showing the articles and later guiding us to a very good vegetarian restaurant nearby . We loved the food and the unbelievable price as compared to Delhi where we currently live. Lastly I could find the variety of banana I love most and enjoyed eating them . ( Dont mistake me for a monkey.)

Worst Experience: We love bed coffee / tea and couldnot get even at 7-00AM on checkout day. The response from room service was even colder when contacted. Lengthy explanations on service timings was all we could get instead of a two cups of morning coffee.The mindless explanations at reception further dampened our spirits. Our checkout had to wait for the reception guy to return from his morning toilet call. The city was attractive with heritage look and glorious Lingaraj temple . Ironically that checkout day happened to be my birthday which started on a wrong note thus making it memorable for wrong reasons- unforgettable all the same.The management need to understand the customer mind and expectation than self styled functioninng propelled by lethargy and poor systems compounded by lack of control .
