The location of the hotel is fantastic & charming. The ambience of hotel is also very good. It should be choice of everyone. Quality of food also is good. The hotel has a green lush garden which is attributing special look to the overall surroundings.

The Destination-Munnar is an ideal location for nature lovers ..scenic beauty and a couple of sight seeing locations ... The resort location...on the outskirts of munnar just before reaching the town (2 KM) ..u can enjoy the scenic beauty only if u step out the room ...it is a calm and quiet place away from the buzz of the town ..it is preferable to stay on the ground floor either in executive or suite room ..only the suite room has got the bath tub . The resort has got a good well maintained green lush garden . with ample car parking .At the time of checkin (3 PM --27 th aug ) we had a not so friendly guy at the reception who was very much reluctant to give us a proper answers and part with the resort details as if we were asking some defence secrets ...all the other 3 guys we interacted at the reception during our stay were very helpful espciallly one Mr.Shaji ...All the other staff right from the security staff,room service , restaurant staff are very cooperative , well behaved and available at a call ,always with a smile . Though the ambience of the restaurant is good the food needs to be improved ..Since i am a non drinker dont know much about the availability and consumption inside the resort ..Overall the resort is very nice , clean and ideally located well suited for family vacations .

Best Experience: everything the rooms the surrounding and especially the gardens and the mountains and cool breeze when u step out of the room ...What u see in their website is what exists unlike other deceiving photos posted by various hotels...

Worst Experience: absolutely no plug sockets other than the one connected with the TV ..had a tough time in charging camera battery,laptop and mobile ...make sure u carry a extention cord with u ...The beds are pretty old and needs to be changed ..

The location is great by being on the outskirts of town, so it is quiet except for the busses that sound their horn when going around the corner nearby. That being said, by being so far out of town, it is a fairly far walk if you want to go into town unless you hire a taxi. We hired a motorcycle to see the sights, from Top Station down to the waterfalls on the other side of Adimaly. The staff are friendly and helpful but the service in the restaurant is a bit slow even though the food is great. The room was clean except for a few stain spots on the sheets. The flat sheets covering the bed weren\'t covering the mattress completely and the mattress was very hard. The shower was great except that you had to run the hot water for about 5min before it got to you and that there was only hot water at certain times.

Best Experience: The gardens were beautifully maintained and we admired it from a swing bench on the far side of the garden.

This was my first trip to munnar. I booked Hotel Royal Retreat for non AC standard room. Hotel is worth for money. Good location and beautiful garden around. 2 Kml from town walkable distance from Rose Garden(beautiful garden) walkable distance from KSRTC old bus stand and Tourist Information Center complimentary breakfast Good food and service. Rooms are neat and clean one of the good thing I liked is that, peoples in Kerala are very helpful with tourists.

overall experience was good. Nice and cozy rooms. As per the manager this is the oldest hotel in munnar.

Best Experience: We booked in advance and they gievn us 2 adjacent rooms. Good management. Rooms interior is good. First impression of the room is good. Value for money. They are doing renovations . So they may increase tariff in near future. They have nice garden . Good hill view.

Worst Experience: Toilets were not having exhaust fan. They said they are about to fix no sound exhaust fans soon. Hot water timings are limited.
