The overall experience was good, except that the room phone was not functional, but repaired later.

Best Experience: Boarding the shikara from just outside my room. The lobby staff was extremely helpful.

Worst Experience: Smelly bath water. The bathrooms were not clean either. It requires urgrnt renovations

We stayed as a couple during April 2012 for a short stay. It is located on the banks of the famous Dal Lake and this is a major high-light. As the nights tend to get cold the Room heater unit came handy.

Best Experience: We had a room with a view to the lake which was the plus. The room service order was brought in quick time sometimes rare in those parts.

Worst Experience: When the power goes out, the back-up takes a while to kick in. As the structure is quite old the rooms are in need of paint and appears dull and shabby.
