Mark & Meadows Resort Reviews

The resort\'s room had poor housekeeping. The toilet was very dirty and sofa/bed-covers were not neat & clean with many spots of past uses. Mosquito attack is a common phenomenon within resort room and corridor. Response to room service for drinking water is poor and sometimes you have to remind after 15-30 minutes. But the resort had arranged excellant cultural activities in the evening during our stay which I can challange few resort can provide. The dances and musics arranged by the resort refreshed our minds. These will attract us again to stay here inspite of some bottlenack. Hope the resort management will recover in future to arrange best facilities here.

Best Experience: 1. Excellant cultural programs on music and dance daily basis. 2. Firework on last evening when different crackers were fired in the garden in presence of all visitors.

Worst Experience: Arranged Bufe system with many food items but food quality for nonveg items were not fresh. My wife had acute indigestion. She could not join with us to visit Tarapith mandir and stayed along in the resort room.

overall experience was good but found that there is gap between committment and actuals delivered. Front office/reception is overtly dependent on kolkata office.

Best Experience: Fire works conducted during pujas was excellent

Wow! We were actually going to visit Tarapeeth and therefore thought of taking a halt at Santiniketan and visit the place of Tagore. Since we did not make an advanced reservation, we went around checking hotels which had some basic standards and comfortable. To our surprise, we found Marks & Meadows - the only hotel there with a swimming pool. What a surprise!!! We checked in, the price was right and we were provided with a comfortable room as well. Great time at the hotel and in the evening we explored the Vishwa Bharati University and reached a small little village there. To our surprise, this was the village where the Baul singers reside - by the way for those who may not be aware, it is this form of folk music based on which Tagore composed his great creation of Baul songs and the most famous of which is \'Aakla Chalo Rey\'. We spent an evening there and were surprised with their hospitality in their mud-huts and they sang few songs as well. We imediately invited them to our hotel the following evening for an exclusive performance and the hotel cooperated to the extent that I have no words to express!

Best Experience: The hotel is surrounded by natural environ and behind our room was a small pond where we dabled in angling with our kids besides the exemplary service, always at our service, smiling little wonders....I am happy to have found such a nice place and surely I would return, soon!

Worst Experience: None at all

ok. As Santiniketan is a nice place. But hotel is not up to the expected level.The service was horrible.

Best Experience: Only good thing comes to mind is the fire cracker show. That was enjoyable to children and young.

Worst Experience: Absolute mismanagement in dinning room. The food finishes off before everybody could eat. Please improve this.

The resort location and surrounding is really good. The room service, service at the restaurant and front-office were not at all satisfactory. Food was OK and nothing great in taste or value.
