"Better than Meenmutty or Soochiparra waterfalls for late February"

  • 5.0/7
  • Posted Mar 7, 2016
Atleast worth the money and trouble, as compared to the other 2 so-called waterfalls where a tiresome climbing and trekking, involving hours to reach and complete. Most of the tourists I found were from adjoining towns, Cochin, Mysore, Bangalore, bordering areas of Tamil Nadu and mostly youngsters.

"Thusharagiri Falls - Can also be called trekkers delight"

  • 6.0/7
  • Posted Sep 9, 2015
A trip to Thusharagiri (mist capped peak) Falls is an adventurous one. As the name suggests, land and water have struck an extraordinary affinity at Thusharagiri. The plantation destination that proliferate in rubber, arecanut, pepper, ginger and spices, is also a trekkers delight. We had to start early morning for trekking to the waterfall on the hills and climb up through the immaculate dense evergreen forests teeming with exotic birds and animals. Two streams originating from the western ghats meet here to form the Chali Puzha River which diverges into three waterfalls creating a snowy spray, which gives the name, 'Thusharagiri' Of the three, the highest waterfall is the Thenparai that falls from an altitude of 75 metres Thusharagiri offers endless scope for trekking, rock climbing and wildlife sanctuary visits. It is around 50 kilometers from Kozhikode, so kids and aged persons may find this adventurous trip bit challenging. Hence we had to leave our family at the hotel and by late night we were back to the hotel bit tired. But the trip was worth it and the experience is beyond explanation. We had to carry food and water as instructed by the tour guide but we found few food outlets on the way.

"The beauty of water and heights"

  • 5.5/7
  • Posted Jul 15, 2015
Thusharagiri is a sightseeing attraction near Adivaram, Calicut. Its a very big waterfall which needs to climb a huge hill to enjoy the full view, beware ladies and kids and men too. It's quite at height to climb will tear your nerves of leg, but when you climb and enjoy the beauty you'll feel that you are on top of Everest, Everest without snow. There are many other attraction here, a BIG HOLLOW TREE, in which you can enter and see the sky yes a selfie or groufie inside the tree will be great.

"Exciting place to explore"

  • 6.5/7
  • Posted Jul 17, 2014
It is a great experience to visit this waterfall. The only problem is that a lot of walking distance needs to be covered to see the whole place. The place is a little dangerous too. Very nice food is available near the entrance to the place. That is the only place to get food.

The place is not very attractive like other falls. However, we can spend 1-2 hours here.
