Tipu Sultan's Fort, also known as Tashk-e-Jannat, meaning Heaven’s Envy, is one of the frequented sites at the destination. Constructed identical to Dariya Daulat, Srirangapatna, the fort stands atop the hill at an elevation of 4,851 ft above sea level. Highlighting features of the fort are five arches with minarets, exhibiting beautiful art and architecture of ancient era.

Built in 1791 by Chikballapur chieftains, the fort sprawls over an area of 90 acre. The beautiful palace, which is now closed for public, was at once the summer palace of Tipu Sultan. Moreover, walls and ceilings of the fort are engraved with paintings. Elaborately graved towers and archways of the forts draw attention of tourists.

When I go to Tipu Sultan's fort I feel very comfortable and peaceful environment. The infrastructure of the fort and the crowd both young people as well as old age people comes there to see the fort. It is good to see the fort in morning hours it will be very clear and visible. We can complete the fort within 2-3 hours. The foods available near is hygienic and they allow camera and to click photos there is no such restrictions like.

"Best place for riding"

  • 5.00/7
  • Posted Oct 27, 2014
Best place I have seen so far for cycling or riding bike. I have went with my friends in 2 bikes. Ride was the best thing. Sunrise here is a scenic beauty. Bike-lover get to see a wide variety of bikes, racing here. It is around 50-60 kms from Bangalore, most of the distance is covered with highway, so being a bike-lover I had the best time. We are planning to visit again & again.

"View form the top"

  • 7.00/7
  • Posted Jul 31, 2014
From the high altitude you will love the view. You can see clouds passing nearby. Good for family tour and tour with friends. It is good if you go by your own vehicle. You get nice food there. Center of attraction is the suicide point. According to me, the best time go is the monsoon.

"The artifacts and some of his belongings are worth watching"

  • 2.50/7

Tipu Sultan may be a celebrated King of his time, but his summer palace is not as popular as he is. The artifacts and some of his belongings are worth watching.
