Tipu’s Fort was built by Tipu Sultan, in Badami, around the 18th century on top of a nearby hill. From this Fort, Tipu placed hard and aerodynamic shanks at advantageous positions for fighting with the Marathas.
There are cave temples which have been carved on Tipu’s Fort. Tourists have to cross the 2nd and 3rd caves to take the route to the fort. A naturally made cave can be seen on the way to the fort, which has Buddhist carvings inside.
Timing: 6:00 am – 6:00 pm.
