"The Travancore Heritage is a beautiful property lo..."

Posted 17 Sep, 2006

The Travancore Heritage is a beautiful property located at Chowara in Trivandrum district. Around 30-45 minutes drive from the Trivandrum international airport, the property has rooms as Kerala traditional cottages as well as in the form of usual hotel rooms. The accomodation is air conditioned and also quite spacious. The property has its own beach which is maintained, hardly crowded and adjoins a fishing village which means that you can see the morning catch come in and the hustle bustle on the beach. The welcome is done in the traditional Kerala way and refreshing coconut water was offered on check in. A member of the front office accompanies the guest to the room/cottage and explains the amenities and also the resort services. Guests can use one of the two pools, one of them being by the beach. The beach and the pools have lifeguards. August was a good time to visit as the resort was not crowded because it was the end of off season - prices were low because of this. And also the monsoon has waned which means it is green all around and nice and sunny (lots of sunscreen advised for being outdoors). Service is non-intrusive and it can be a pleasure to walk around the property which is large and overlooks a slope into the beach. One of the problems is cell connectivity which is sparse- some networks are picked up better than the other and it differs on which part of the property you are. This might be a good thing if you want to stay away from work/friends/extended family :) Also in off season the food variety is limited and you might have to pick from the ala carte\' menu as the buffet is not usually there because of low occupancy. Overall good fun, great ambience. Good place to stay for at least 3-4 days.

"Beautiful view; great hospitality"

Posted 20 Sep, 2014

Outside the window is the Arabian Sea! Situated on a cliff at a slope are the cottages and rooms amongst the greenery of the resort. Surrounded by coconuts, ducks and flower you feel Rejuvenated. What more, using the elevator at 120 meters high, one can reach their private beach! Try their buffet and you would love to come back for the best North Indian vegetarian food, contrary to the notion about Kerala! Enjoyed by tourists from all countries, it seems a favoured resort. They have all sorts facilities with a very good in resort momento shop. Beautiful pool and great hospitality! On asking for a cake shop, they responded if it was someone's bday! When they got to know its my mom's, they gave a complimentary cake that too a yummy one! Start saving for this one :-)

"Fantastic hotel to stay and relax "

Posted 25 Nov, 2014

They provided pick up and drop facility. Ambiance of the hotel was very nice. I liked the swimming pool very much there. Location of the hotel was fantastic and it was located near to the sea. I visited there in the month of June. I made my booking on the spot. Overall my stay in the hotel was comfortable. They had a private beach. Check in and check out procedure was easily done and it was 12 hours. Staff behaviour was good and I had no issue about their services. It was a big property. I booked the cottage there. Beach view was visible from my room. Room was spacious and well maintained. Mini bar, mini kitchen and other activities were available in my room but mini bar was chargeable. Food was also very nice. Many varieties were available North Indian, South Indian, etc. Complimentary breakfast they served and it was in buffet system. They provided the many activities in the hotel like swimming pool, gym, spa, etc and I used them. Kovalam as a destination place is fantastic. I will recommend this hotel to other travellers. It was a relaxation trip with couple in June month 2014.

"visited this resort between 23 and 28 april 2007...."

Posted 3 May, 2007

visited this resort between 23 and 28 april 2007. i selected this resort purely on the basis of the high rating on this site by other reviewers. my wife , myself and our five year old son had a great time. we would not hesitate to recommend this resort . the food is very good but repititive ie the breakfast and dinner is a buffet and tends to be repititive espeacially if you stay for more than three days. the vegetarian fare is also limited and the main disappointment is the very limited choice of local dishes speacially vegetarian. the staff are extremely friendly and helpfull .the highlights of this resort are undoubtedly the immaculate gardens, clean and tidy environs, beautiful view of the sea and the inherently relaxing atmosphere.

"Excellent place to stay, good rooms, good food "

Posted 29 Jul, 2013

Yes.. nice place to stay in Kovalam... The resort is not in Kovalam town. It is slightly away in Chowara and the last stretch of approach road is slightly bad. But once you enter the resort, you forget the maddening crowd and bad roads immediately. The resort has beautiful landscapes with many tall trees and shrubs. They have many different types of rooms, all in old Kerala architecture, some rooms have inlaid wood paintings, some have old style swings and some others have local patio furniture. You feel like you have been transported into an era where stress was not even in the dictionary. The food was amazing. We stayed there two nights and every meal was different, delicious and lip smacking. One of the best foods I have had in any hotel I had stayed in by far.The staff was very gracious and helpful at all times. overall highly recommended Travacore Heritage Resort... Nice place to enjoy your Holidays in this Budget.
