We booked a deluxe garden view room and got a free upgrade to a lovely suite. The staff were really friendly and accommodating, always willing to help. The bell boy weighted our luggage to make sure that we didn't go above airline restrictions. The room was excellent, the meals were good, the location of the hotel good as well. The hotel has a nice swimming pool The price for all was very reasonable and our friends were really impressed!!! The pool area is beautiful. I would definitely stay at this hotel again
Top Reviews of Trident
Trident hotel, Udaipur is a beautifully well maintained, clean and green property situated right next to Udaivilas. We were welcomed by a traditional aarti and sweet fragrance in the attractive lobby. The hotel also arranged for a complementary show around trip to Udaivilas hotel, the beauty and memory of which makes one speechless. We chose a garden view room which made us feel secure, relaxed and comfortable in the lap of nature with all the modern comforts. We have stayed in 5-star hotels overseas too. But what makes Trident Udaipur a class apart is the prompt and soothing service of the staff. What impressed and touched us most is that they are loyal to Trident at the same time serve their guests with their heart into it. I can name Anoop at the reception, Kudrat, who offered us a room of our choice, Mahima and Siddharth (who obliged us with custom made Rajasthani Kadhi pakodi well prepared for us by the Chef) at the Aravalli restaurant. Sourabh reminded me of Florence Nightingale, as he swiftly and smoothly served all the guests with a smile. On the day of our check-out, when I told him that I will always remember him, he requested me to post my positive review about Trident on the Trip Advisor. So, this is for Saurabh in particular. Trident, Udaipur is more than a home away from home. Thanks Trident for the soothing and cherishable moments!! Room Tip: It's better to choose garden view rooms with a beautiful view rather than the pool side one.
Udaipur was a surprise. The Trident, Udaipur was a greater surprise. I never knew that Rajasthan had wet stretches with greenery all around on low lying mountains. I thought the whole of Rajasthan was like Alwar, Jaipur, Jaisalmer and Jodhpur - dry and dusty. Although, I like these above mentioned cities a lot for their quiet solitude, I loved Udaipur for its rainy climate and green carpeted mountains and within Udaipur, the Trident, Udaipur was a lovely oasis. We had asked for a chauffeured car from the hotel. A phone call from Delhi to confirm that resulted in a nice conversation with Niyas Desai (A Gujarati gentleman with a Malayali accent) at the front desk and Amit Kaul (Manager-at-large with Kashmiri roots with a London drawing-room accent). They said they were sending an Innova. Santosh, was waiting for us with the car as we got down from the small ATR-72-900 aircraft at the tiny Udaipur airport. The drive, as he told us, was 45 minutes and 37 kilometers long. It really took only 35 minutes and the way was green at every corner. The city has a population of less than one million and it is sparsely filled in the street corners and roads. We suddenly came upon the Trident inside a narrow lane and the hotel and its lush environs burst upon our senses. It was lovely to say the least. The staff is over courteous and takes extra pleasure in making sure you are at home every second. We didn't get the room just as we landed. Sonam at the reception insisted that I just sign on the form, which already had my name, office address, designation and phone numbers laser printed on it and then relax at the lounge adjoining the reception. The view from the lounge was astounding and my wife smiled from ear to ear looking at the massive garden. Her holiday had begun. She was relaxed just looking at the broad green expanse. Sonam walked up to us to announce the room was not ready yet. She was deeply apologetic and suggested we have lunch at the coffee shop cum restaurant, Aravalli, while we wait for the room. We walked towards the restaurant and were pleasantly shocked to see the superb view from the French windows in the restaurant. The skies were rolling with dark clouds perched over a hilltop spreading out to hundreds of kilometers.
Location of the hotel was good. I did not find any difficulty in finding the place. This place is very far from the city. The interiors and exteriors of the hotel were quiet impressive. Paintings furnishing all were well maintained. Surroundings of the hotel were neat, clean and well maintained. This hotel is beside the lake. The room was neat and clean. But the room was not that much space as I paid for it. A part of the size everything was good. Amenities were in working condition. The room had a garden view. Washroom was neat, clean and well maintained. 24 hour hot water service was provided. I had food in the hotel and it was good. The food was tasty and hygienic. There were a wide variety of foods. Check-in and check-out was smooth. I was happy with the stay. They had not provided any activity except a play area for kids. They did not provide sightseeing trip also. I would recommend this place to other travellers also. It was a value for money stay.
I stayed here for 3 days along with few of my office colleagues on a team building programme. We were welcomed by front office staff and served with soft drinks. Indian tradition of welcoming guests by putting tilak on their foreheads were followed. Office staff accompanied each of us up to rooms and given us feeling like a home. The rooms were spacious, modern, soft and comfortable beds with cuddly pillows made our nights full of sweet dreams. Rest rooms – no question of any complaints. The kind of hospitality offered by hotel staff during our stay can only be explained through heart only. Indian Rajasthani healthy food was offered during lunch with lots of Manwar Rajasthani folk dances were arranged as part of entertainment programme. It was amazing to see girls dancing with fire on their heads. In totality it was an wondeful experience.
This resort shares its property with Oberoi Udaivillas and the moment you enter the main gate, you can feel the change. The dusty roads of Udaipur suddenly gives way to manicured gardens and well paved roads. Check in was smooth and we were given a pool facing room. I had expected to see the pool and Aravallis from my room and was bit disappointed to see that such a view is not possible from any of the rooms. The size of the room is standard 5 star size and it has all amenities that a 5 star should have except for bath robes. Don't know why they do not have that. The bathroom is decent size and you have to order toiletries as per your requirement. Room service is good and prompt. The rooms are cleaned twice a day. The pillows were excellent, just the way I wanted them. There is one bar and only one restaurant. Menu is limited. Their strength is continental and Indian. They make excellent mutton and lamb. Their weakness is Thai and Chinese food. I would recommend not to try these cuisines but stick to their mutton. The two things that exceeded our expectations is their service and the kids room. We select hotels based on the availability of kids room and this resort has the best kids room amongst all the five star properties we have stayed till date. The kids room is a huge tent with AC and has all types of games to keep the child busy. They also arranged for free horse and camel ride. The horse and camel ride was one of an experience for my son. Coming back to the service, its one thing being nice and smiling and servicing you. Its another thing to go out of your way to ensure that the service meets your expectation and also preempt your requirement. While cleaning the room, the room service staff found my son's cars lying around all over the room. They collected them, put the cars in a bag and left a note saying that they have done it. Another case was in the restaurant. They made tea for me three times, till it met my expectation. Its not that I had complained about the tea. When they found that I was not drinking the tea, they prepared it twice till it met my expectation. The staff were very pleasant and it was a pleasure interacting with them. The resort has beautiful gardens and you can find squirrels, peacocks in their garden. There are enough tress to provide you share from the sun and you can enjoy the breeze from Lake Pichola under the trees. Overall we had a wonderful experience and my son enjoyed a lot during those three days. The staff pampered him a lot during breakfast. For the rates we paid, this resort provided us much more than our value for money. Highly recommended
