Tungarli Lake is an artificial reservoir with a small lake and dam, which was built in 1930, during the British era. The lake is a major source of drinking water to the residents of the hill station and also helps in the irrigation of the Rajmachi region.
Recently, this lake has been transformed into a recreational picnic spot with resorts all around the place. There are various trekking and backpack camping facilities near the lake. From the cliff top, views of some celebrity bungalows, hotel Laguna and the entire Lonavala city are available.
It is located north of the state transport bus stand near Tungarli village in the hills in Sahyadri ranges. The lake is approachable through small rough roads of the village.
