This was my honeymoon trip. Certainly, we looked for a place that would offer us a lot of privacy amid natural beauty. I had no idea of how the hotel would be like when we booked it through an online portal. As we reached the hotel, we were simply thrilled by its natural beauty. There are several cottages surrounded by landscaped garden. We were taken to a small cottage. The friendly staff took great care of us, throughout our stay. We had taken food package which included breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner. And all that at Rs. 350 only. It was almost lunch time when we reached. We were incorrigibly hungry. So we took quick shower and headed towards the dining hall. It was a large hall with multiple tables with glass top. Food was served. Steamed rice, a slice of lime, shukto, dal, bhaja, sabji, fish curry, salad, chutney and sweets. Likewise the dinner too would be a gala one with the only thing added is roti along with rice. Apart from food, hotel services and beautiful ambiance of the hotel, the best part of it was the location. Tuskers Den is located opposite to the safari booking counter, making it easily accessible to book tickets for a jungle safari. Moreover, the location offered ample security. The location being so close to the forest, we would often observe monkeys and lovely birds in the hotel garden. On our day of departure we even saw a peacock.
The location of the hotel was very good and I did not find any problem in travelling here. The appearance was also good and surrounding was hygienic. The staff members in the hotel are helpful and quick in service. The food given to me was good in quality and taste, and price was reasonable. The room allotted was spacious and maintained well with basic amenities in good condition. The housekeeping staff regularly cleaned the room and washroom. The hotel is situated in a forest so the view is nice and the place is calm and peaceful. I had been here in December with my family and our experience was wonderful.
The USP of Tuskers den is the location that is bang outside the Forest division ticket counter. The tickets for safaris have to be booked an hour or two before the safaris and hence the location helps going and having a peep to see if the window is open.. running back after lunch or breakfast for the sscheduled safaris. Secondly the owner Mr Shantanu Ghosh who himself manages all the game is a very co-operative and straightforward person. He is easygoing an very helpful to get you your vehicle bookings and guide for places and safaris. The place has lovely garden and accomodation is in individual cottages giving ample privacy and ambience. The food at the place is also amazying. The only point being you would have to tell them in morning what you wish to eat at night. They get fresh stock of veggies and meat as per order. Rest of the accomodation is pretty neat and simple but clean and utility wise quite good. I would definitely recommend this for a budget traveller who is looking for a good place to sit back at the end of a travelling day.
The hotel was good. The location of the hotel was awesome. It was really easy to book the jungle safari as the hotel was just in front of the booking counter. The food and the drinks served was really good. Was happy with the service also. The rooms were neat and well maintained and was comfortable.Had a rememberable stay at Tuskers Den....
We went in a group of 20 people, and had the entire resort to ourselves. Spent three nights together with good food, day outings, and one day inside the Gorumara Reserve Forest for sighting bisons, deers, and peacocks. The Resort has an excellent garden, and we spent lot of time early mornings barefoot on the grass with morning dew. The owner Mr. Santanu Ghosh and all his staff are ever ready to help out with anything. We availed of a package which included for the room, all food, transport for local sight seeing, including pick-up and drop from/to the railway station.
We stayed at Tuskers den in Gorumara, that was a good hotel, service provided by the staff was impressive, got nice view from the room and that was comfortable, food served in the restaurant was excellent taste. We had done our booking in advance and did not have any problems at the front office. The hotel was located at convenient place and appearance was good, we enjoyed the activities arranged in the hotel. Overall, that was a recommendable hotel and Gorumara was a good place to stay.
The appearance of this hotel was outstanding. The booking was done through online. There was no problem at check-in and check-out. The service of the staff was helpful, polite and responded to the calls quickly. The double bedded non AC wide rooms were neat and clean and well-maintained. The rooms were provided with wardrobe, toilets and other amenities. From the rooms the wide spread lawn could be seen. The Bengali food that was served for breakfast through dinner was excellent in a buffet system with regard to quality and quantity. There was no activity available. I went to this place in December 2013 for relaxation with 2 to 3 families.
Very good resort and the rooms are well maintained. The entire resort campus was in the midst of nature with lovely gardening and well manicured lawns. The Dlx. Double Bed Cottage where we stayed was quite big and clean. The balcony was the perfect place to relax on the caned chairs with a cup of Darjeeling Tea. It is situated just opposite the main gate of the Gorumara National Park, but is around 1 km away from the pick up point of the jeep safaris. There are a couple of good shops just outside the resort with good collection of crafts, but need to be very careful with the price bargain
