Udaipur food, sight-seeing and shopping options
We bought tickets for a boat ride in Lake Pichola from the City Palace ticket counter and the boat left from the deck of Hotel Fateh Prakash. The boats were very neat and the ride too was a pleasant one. If you take the local boats, you have to see much of the filth and i think taking it from City Palace is a much better option. Many other popular tourist spots like Nehru Island park and Monsoon palace are something you can do without visiting. Remember, a traveller does not stick to popular tourist spots. He/she finds new ones..untouched and unexplored!

Hotel Review of Trident Hilton Udaipur
Comments: Trident Udaipur is on the banks of Lake Pichhola. We were hoping for a lake view, but were disappointed. Our room on the first night was on the lower level so all we had to settle for was a garden view. The lawns are well manicured, though. On the second night we asked for a change (because we needed interconnected rooms) and were moved to the upper level. That was a lot better but the view was mostly obstructed by trees.
Best Experience: The setting is great (although Oberoi Udaivilas has snatched the best views of the lake). The service was definitely very friendly and courteous. Their breakfast spread is top class. And since kids eat free, it was well worth the extra cost. Their Italian preparations for dinner were superb.
Worst Experience: Not having interconnected rooms available for us when we checked in. Since the Hilton rooms are ultra small, extra beds for kids is not a possibility. What Hilton does is to offer discounted rooms for the children. That's thoughtful but the trouble is that we were traveling with kids under 12, and leaving them alone for the night in a separate room became a problem. To the hotel's credit, they did sort it out and found us a connected room on the second night of our stay.

We were looking for a place which was neither cheap nor overtlyexpensive , easily acessible from the points of sightseeing and where the whole family specially children would not find tv as the only means of recreation.I am happy to say that Trident udaipur fulfilled all the above.Apart from providing the normal facilities associated with any five strar resort the Trident provides the little extras that make for a perfect relaxing weekend .The grand entrance, sprawling gardens and tucked away...

Hotel Review of Trident Hilton Udaipur
The Trident, Udaipur is an excellent leisure hotel with superb facilities and ambience. It has sprawling gardens, a lovely swimming pool and is located within walking distance from a lake. Food was just average (suited to foreign tastes) and service was ok. But overall, a lovely place to stay on holiday in Udaipur. Would love to go back....
