"Total waste of Time"

Must say I m badly disappointed with Umaid Bhawan.
Other than vintage car collection, there s nothing inside it. Its just like any simple museum. Most parts are converted into a hotel& are out of bound fr tourists.
Though you can click pics from outside but nothing 2 enjoy as ull get bored in 1hr only & come out of it.

"It's ROYAL !!"

  • 6.0/7

Um ed Palace Museum is something you will never see anywhere else in the world. It's hiatory teller - a great and glorious history of Marwar region. Architecture wise this museum is fabulous and you will witness some captivating things inside the museum. How the Rulers o Jodhpur-Marwar area lived their lives maintaining the balance between their lifestyle and the civilians, is self-explained once you visit the different rooms inside the museum area. Centuries old clocks will take you down into the historic lane of the kingdom.
We had a family trip their last month and this place is so mesmerising that let us glued to that palace for a long time. A must visit for those who love to explore hiatoric moments through hiatoric things.

"Royal Palace"

Um ed Bhawan palace museum shows the real living of royal family now and earlier. Watching vintage cars of year 1908 and above is a life time experience. Watching lifestyle of royal family and interiors of the palace soothes eyes and creates a dream of being a part of this family.

Awesome palace in Jodhpur. Palace seems to be a high copy of Rashtrapati Bhawan. Photographer must visit the palace. It's the best place to shoot. Best vintage collections of cars, so car lovers also should visit once if in Jodhpur. Interior and architecture of the Palace is good.

"Nothing much to see"

  • 3.0/7

Not that great. Other museums in Rajasthan like in Jaipur and Udaipur are much better. It was quite small and even articles on display were not that great. You can cover Jodhpur in one day only. Though city was OK, at least the new city where we stayed. Second day can be spent in shopping.

"Architect is no doubt speechless"

  • 4.0/7
  • Posted Apr 7, 2016
If you even miss out this place dont regret. This palace is divided into 3 parts. In one part present Maharaja resides, 2nd part given on lease to Taj group of hotels and third part, which a basically a very small one is open as museum. Salar Jung Museum of Hyderabad is far far better than this one. Its only a way of income to present Maharaja. Architect is no doubt speechless but for a ordinary visitor you can't explore its beauty. If you stay at Umad Taj then only you could feel the essence of this palace.

"Waste of time"

The museum is not at all worth going as they only have 2-3 small rooms to show for the "museum". The palace view from outside is soo much better.

There is nothing much to see. Instead better is to roam around the garden and see some antique cars kept under covers.

"One of the best place to visit, at a high level from city"

  • 6.0/7
  • Posted Jan 30, 2016
Umaid Palace is built by one of the richest persons of Jodhpur. His all memories are still kept in a well-mannered way. It has been converted into a museum. It's a very huge structure. It is located on a height. Half of the city Jodhpur is visible from there.

Umaid Bhawan is really very big, but just 10% of its structure is allowed to show public. Other doors are not open for public. There is also a five star hotel. If you are a customer in that hotel then hope so you are eligible to 30% of the Umaid Palace.

Beside this, in the same campus, there a Vintage Car collection of about 10 Vintage Cars including all high companies like Rolls Royce etc. And this is available free of cost. These Cars are even driven today by their generation members. These Cars are even today shiny and well-maintained.

One must visit this place to know something about Jodhpur, to see Vintage Cars and to breathe fresh air.
