About Vaigai Dam

The Vaigai Dam is built across the Vaigai River in the vicinity of Andipatti in the Theni District. This dam was inaugurated on 21st January, 1959 and measures 111 ft in height and can store water up to 71 ft.

The Agriculture Research Institute carries out research on pulses, cereals and grains. There is a garden, known as Little Brindavan, near this dam. In addition, there is a children's park and boating facility.

We visited when the dam did not have water. Water level was very low hence could not see the gushing of water from the dam. Garden and very good scenes are there in the dam and its definitely worth a visit.

"Nice place but no maintenance"

This place is nice to see. Ariel view of water would be amazing. Has an excellent play area for kids. Baby train inside par but maintenance have to improved.
