Vajra Bhairav Shrine is the shrine of the guardian deity of an order known as the Gelug Pa. The Gelug Pa order is one of the oldest in Buddhism and the Vajra Bhairav Shrine is situated in the beautiful valley of the Indus River. One very peculiar thing with the Vajra Bhairav Shrine is the fact that the deity is only visible to devotees once a year. The rest of the year the deity is kept in a closed sanctum. However the shrine is home to some very beautiful paintings and some of the paintings date back to around 600 years.
