Valsad is a major tourist attraction in the Valsad District, which was formerly known as Bulsar. The people here are mostly engaged in fishing and orchard fuming along with making dyes, bricks, handloom textiles and pottery. Mango, sapodilla, teak and several other trees are present in the local forest near the city.
