Hotel Review of Taj Garden Retreat
Comments: Overall, rather nice. Though, the value for your money is average.
Best Experience: Great view from the room. Attentive staff.
Worst Experience: The beach is a good 15 min walk away, along a narrow path. It (the beach!) is, however, quite clean. The resort is a tad run down, and could do with some sprucing.

If I could be blunt at the beginning itself - where beach and what beach? When you say beach resort - you think of the long walks on the seafront like in Goa or the water ambling onto your feet as in Mahabalipuram. From Taj Varkala the beach is a good kilometre away down a half-made path. The beach is about 300 metres long - which means if you have a hundred people visiting the place is crowded....
